Last Film You Watched

While - as with so many films - it's probably best seen on the big screen, you'll probably be OK, especially if you have a decent setup. In any case, dimming the lights and cranking up the sound should see you right...

Sadly missed the window to watch it at the cinema in the UK but I have a large enough TV, black out blinds & deaf neighbours so will wait for the DVD/online release.

The Irishman - Some enjoyable moments but overall though I was bored. Dialogue was long winded, pacing was off, couldn’t get into it.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - Tarantino’s worst film imo. Another bore long winded mess. Thought the film had huge potential particularly the era and setting and never realised any of it.

They Live - Feels more like a documentary than ever before, given these times we live in. Ha ha.
Consume & Obey. Yep.

Did you see it in a cinema? The sound design & score are both incredible.

With Monos being a prime example - after seeing it, I wrote that it "appears to have been primarily designed as a sensory experience; admittedly, there's not much of a plot here, but that's not too much of a hindrance in a work which requires you to do little more than buckle up before it takes you on its nightmarish, hallucinatory journey".

Sure did, didnt know it was Levi but it all makes sense now.

Went to watch Knives Out, it's really good, normally I dont do funny films at the cinema as people laughing annoy me since I always end up with a fella like De Niro in Cape Fear by me.
Anyway yeah it's good film, great cast in a great location, few twists and turns, I'd says it's more of a WTF is going on then a who done it, perfect film if your on a date!!

2001: A Space Oddysey

I know all the film hipsters out there will crucify me for this, but I just can't see why 49% of the people who've rated this at Letterboxd gave it 10/10.
I started watching yesterday, and about an hour through the film nothing had happened and I fell asleep. I tortured myself by rewinding what I missed and watching another 20 minutes before I gave up and went to bed. Today I figured I'd finish the film, even though I didn't really want to.

It did get better when Hal got introduced and I actually got invested in the story for like 45 minutes. Then I struggled to stay awake through the last 20 minutes of the film as it got just painfully boring again. I'll give it extra points for the beautiful cinematography and the fact it was probably mindblowing back in the 60s.

5/10
Defo a film hipster flick. If you don't want to fall asleep, watch Predator lol
Never got it myself.

I think if anyone else would`ve done it, other than Kubrick, it wouldn`t have got the acclaim it did.
terribly boring that film
it's the greatest film of all time

Solaris is better. Either version.

A principled accountant upsets the bosses of his Wall Street firm by questioning the firm's practices. He is punished by being banished to a remote office which just so happens to be where he grew up. There, it so happens, his father and brother are struggling to keep the family farm going and also, as it so happens, his best mate from school runs some sort of crypto currency exchange in the back of his family's liquor store. You can guess the rest.

Some really good actors do their best but it is irredeemable...

@coollino watched Atlantics last night.

Considering in essence it was a very low budget, Senegalese love story, with a super natural twist, I really enjoyed it.

Some great performances from the young cast and some of the girls are stunningly beautiful.

@jaycee @Nymzee reckon you may like this.

It`s slow, all about the word play ( Netflix )
I was having a mooch at that a cpl of weeks ago, might give it a look during the week

ah good, thought you would like it. Yea the supernatural is a good twist on things, luckily it really works as it could easily gone without.
