Last Film You Watched

Watched Greenland the other day, I actually thought the first half of it wasn’t bad at all. Thought it tailed off towards the end. Usually not a fan of Gerard Butler films, overall it wasn’t bad probably better then I thought it was going to be to be fair
Watched it last night and thought it was a pretty good disaster flick. Think it was pretty low budget as well so quite impressive that it managed to do it much better than numerous massive budget movies.

Yer like I say I actually thought it started pretty well, to the point the lack of budget showed towards the end with the special effects. The story leading up to that with the bands and how everyone reacted to them I thought was really well done

Watching lots of movies lately as I finally have Kodi working consistently

two relatively new movies I loved were Nomadland with Frances McDormand. I think only herself and maybe a couple of others were actually actors and it comes across quite realistic for it. In parts was like an American Ken Loach movie

And also Minari. No idea who the director is or what they’ve done before but I absolutely loved the story and performances. Korean family decades ago trying to make a life in the US.

Just watched Aces High, 70s WW1 aviation film with Malcolm McDowell, film that Iron Madien named a song after.
Decent film, maybe a bit dated looking and slow paced, but a film liket his now would be too much CGI, Midway for example. Not as good as The Blue Max (about the other side), but still well worth seeing.

Put on Greenland on Prime the other night under the pretence of it being a mind-numbing disaster movie that could eat up a few hours. Walked away pleasantly surprised, I actually thought it was fantastic. The story was very good (despite the odd plot-hole / flaw here and there), it focussed on the average Joe during the disaster for once rather than getting into the why's of the cause itself.

It's not the best film you'll ever see but certainly better than those big-budget end of the world, disaster films.

This a good one, if you like them creepy and dark.

I won’t even begin to try and pronounce the Danish title, but it translates into - Terribly Happy.

As a punishment, a disgraced Copenhagen police man is posted to the village police station, of a creepy little village, out in the marshes.

He realises pretty soon that the villagers have their own rules, as he try’s his best to maintain law and order.

Creepy, dark and foreboding. The fella who plays the policeman is standout.

One to watch by yourself.

( Danish with subs / Netflix )
