Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

A good film if you’ve got younger teenagers who are into fantasy horror.

Set in the late sixties, a group of young teens break into a haunted house and find a handwritten book of ghost stories.

New stories start appearing in the book and the real people who feature in the book start dying or disappearing.

Produced by Guillermo del Torro and shades of Stranger Things, Jeepers Creepers and more.

On Netflix.

After reading the posts on here about Come and See i decided to give it a watch. I dont usually get too deeply into films and often forget about them as soon as i have watched them, but this was different to any type of film i have seen before, war or other genre.

Modern war films, made with big budgets and special effects are often very similar and you become immune to any horrific scenes in them but i found this film disturbing from almost start to finish, and it didnt really need any gruesome close ups of people dying or scenes with lots of blood and guts.

I'd say its a must watch for anyone who appreciates well made film, deffo a classic that i'd never heard of before ;)

Yup, thanks to this thread I'm going to check this out when I get home (I'm travelling on work all week). The actual horrors of war really cant be put on screen - you had to be there as they say....but so glad none of us were not.....

My favorite war film is the fantastic, gritty and harrowing The 12th Man - which i just discovered recently (picture below) and if Come And See is half as good, ill be transfixed!......

Last film i watched was Violation, it's kind of gruesome, it's a revenge rape flick.

Just came out last weekend and has been causing a stir.

Ooffff

How did your family and friends take it?
We both thought it was a bit meh, style over substance, a typical indie flick.

And yes i see someone posted a shot of The Audition, the violence in it reminded me of that.

I think post Harvey Weinstein that Hollywood will be producing films like this, you know that women empowerment thing.
