The Sisters Brothers.

Classy western, with a stellar cast.

Two hired guns ( the Sisters brothers ) are hired to find, torture a chemist, into giving up a chemical formula that shows gold up in rivers and streams.

I’ve read the book and the film follows the book pretty much faithfully.

Really slow and meandering for the first hour and a half, then explodes into life.

Considering Riz Ahmed, who plays the chemist started off as a rapper, he’s not overshadowed by the likes of Phoenix, Reilly and Gyllenhall and is a pretty inspired bit of casting.

On Netflix.

Loved this.

Four of the absolute very best leading the film.

It's the equal measures of surrealism and horror, there's nothing I've seen that comes close to that impact and the sound design is a huge part of it. The engine noise with the Fw-189 on it's own is ominous.

But, every part of the movie has the ability to disorientate, disgust and shock, it's a genuine masterpiece as you say.

If anyone reading this thread hasn't seen Come and See, ping me a message and I'll point you in the right direction.

After reading the posts on here about Come and See i decided to give it a watch. I dont usually get too deeply into films and often forget about them as soon as i have watched them, but this was different to any type of film i have seen before, war or other genre.

Modern war films, made with big budgets and special effects are often very similar and you become immune to any horrific scenes in them but i found this film disturbing from almost start to finish, and it didnt really need any gruesome close ups of people dying or scenes with lots of blood and guts.

I'd say its a must watch for anyone who appreciates well made film, deffo a classic that i'd never heard of before ;)

I love Riz Ahmed - he gives an absolute powerhouse in Sound of Metal and rightfully has an Oscar nomination off the back of it.

Loved this. Over the past couple of decades I think there are few directors as consistently great as Audiard - A Prophet, Read My Lips, The Beat That My Heart Skipped, Rust & Bone, Dheepan... all very much worth seeing.

Didn't realise it was Audiard, I guess it being in English didn't help.

It's almost embarrassing reading how over hyped the Justice League Snyder Cut is on social media. A week or so ago I saw a poll on Twitter where 75% of the voters thought it was better than the first Avengers film. Really? This reminds me of when newly released films with hype rise to the top of the IMDB ranking charts.

Just because Snyder has improved a crap movie (apparently, I never saw the original) it's suddenly a masterpiece? It was fairly okay in my opinion, but in no means a 'great' film. The characters were just too bland for that. And just to point it out, the first Avengers movie is my favorite of the lot from Marvel.

I thought it was miles better than any avengers film to be honest and thought the original was awful. All about opinions an that.

Yeah it's all about opinion of course. I just wouldn't trade a single one of the characters in JL for any of the Avengers, personality wise, even though Cyborg was quite good.
