Last Film You Watched

Saw 'Out of the Furnace' last night.

Do NOT watch the trailers (reveals vital plot points) do NOT read the blurb/summaries which do it a complete injustice.

I did neither (not something I usually do) and it was a bloody brilliant watch. It was fantastic, in fact. Utterly recommend.

American Hustle was pretty good, I did enjoy it much more than I though I would, but Out of the Furnace blew it out of the water. Christian Bale & Casey Affleck two of my favourite actors.

watched Beverly Hills Cop yesterday. Loved it. Was made 10 years before i was born but it was brilliant. Eddie Murphy at his best.

Wolf of Wall Street last night. Shame it wasn't the best quality but I don't like the cinema and I'm too impatient to wait for dvd but I was in stitches throughout. Brilliantly produced with some great acting

This, saw it last night. DiCaprio is amazing in it. Very good film and very funny.

Watched American Hustle. Movie is a bit overrated. Granted it was good, I'm just having a tough time believing it should be a front runner for Best Picture.

City of God, very good film.

it's in Portuguese. Do you mind reading subtitles?

Agreed. In fact it might be in my all-time 20 films.

Original dialogue is always a must, whatever the language.

Watched Dark City on tv this afternoon... Quality if for nothing else, it's got the baldie from The Crystal Maze in it!...

Dark City is very good. Reminds me of Solaris.

Die Hard.

F***ing brilliant film.

Aye. It's cheesy and cliched, but my god it is a perfect action movie! Bruce Willis had some life in him back then too.

if anyones interested the abyss is on channel 4 now. class film

Aye, class is the right word. I recently watched the special edition, loads more hard-sci-fi footage of the equipment and life under water...love that slowburning realistic filming. This edition also had the tsunami ending.

... The Man From Earth.

Yes! The film is just talking, but what a conversation!

Goodfellas.

Obvious choice, but it's simply excellent. City of God vs Goodfellas? Very tough call.

I know Tony Leung from the quite awesome Infernal Affairs trilogy

Aye, Internal Affairs I & II are quality police procedural drama. Didn't even know there was a third.

DiCaprio is fast becoming one of the best actors of our time, along with Tom Hanks.

Completely disagree. I only ever liked him in Titanic. Since then he's always the same boy trying to play men. Just rubs me up the wrong way, even Inception I wasn't convinced.

Tom Hanks looks awful in that Walt Disney film, cheese and schmaltz all over the shop. But he's built up a lot of credit over the years. Forrest Gump is one of cinemas all-time masterful acting performances.

watched Beverly Hills Cop yesterday. Loved it. Was made 10 years before i was born but it was brilliant. Eddie Murphy at his best.

Agreed! I used to love Eddie as a kid. Also try The Golden Child, Coming To America and Trading Places.

Don't choose life, live it? Won't that just confuse Renton and co?

The weirdest one i've seen recently was Oldboy, I sure didn't see that coming. Mad as fook.

One of my all-time top 3! Or are you talking about the American remake? Haven't seen it, but the original from South Korea is perfect. Literally perfect. Not a single flaw.

Whilst on BBC iPlayer the other night I accidentally stumbled across the films section, where they had Disturbia. I was only looking for something to put on in the background whilst I was working and this took up about 1 hour 40 so fitted the bill. Wasn't great by any means, but it was watchable.
