Last Film You Watched

Watched 2 kids movies today!

Monsters University

Not as good as the first one and made me miss university again.

Liked it though. They're just likeable characters.

3 out of 5 Championship Belts

Then after that:

The Croods

Bloody ace! Probably Nic Cage's best ever movie!

Really clever concept and actually made me laugh out loud more than a few times. Recommended.

4 Out of 5 Championship Belts.

(And yes these were both watched using that CartoonHD app! Incredible scenes)

Seen a few screeners recently, none of them were particularly good.

Lone Survivor was like a weird army recruitment propaganda film, especially the "real footage" at the start. The film itself was utter rubbish.

American Hustle was ok ish but the rating on IMDB is way too high, it's decent but not great.

12 Years A Slave was quite good if a bit slow moving at times. Michael Fassbender was quality as usual.

The weirdest one i've seen recently was Oldboy, I sure didn't see that coming. Mad as fook.

Wolf of Wall Street last night. Shame it wasn't the best quality but I don't like the cinema and I'm too impatient to wait for dvd but I was in stitches throughout. Brilliantly produced with some great acting

Watched 2 movies today.

Turbo
-------
Animated kids movie about a snail that gets super powers to move really fast.
Bloody great movie. If you have a kid who likes fast cars then I can't reccomend this enough.
It's utterly mental the way the snail (Turbo) enters the Indy 500 but it's a kids animated movie. It doesn't matter how mental it is.

Ryan Reynolds does a good job as Turbo, and other voices include Snoop Dogg and Sammy L Jackson.

This is basically Fast and Furious for kids and I loves it!

3.5 Championship Belts out of 5

The second movie was:

After Earth
------------
What in gods name was this utter utter tripe?

The Smiths line up in some weird future where humans had to flee earth but these two weapons end up back there as it just happened to be the nearest planet for their knackered space ship to crash on. Ok mate.

You then follow Smith Jnr as he tries to get across a bit of earth to find a beacon to get home being guided by his old man. Or something. Anyway. The kid just can't act.

I have no idea what accent Smith Snr was trying to pull off either.

I kept watching in case he got eaten by the weird main monster of the movie. *sigh

Tripe.

1.5 Championship Belts out of 5

xThe-Way-a-movie-with-Martin_sheen.png.pagespeed.ic.NmgmmKk5bs.jpg

Martin Sheen plays an uptight father who has to travel to South West France to identify the body of the dead son he'd somehow been disappointed in. He learns that his son was embarking on the famous Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage of self-discovery taken by thousands every year across northern Spain, when he'd lost his way and perished, and decides to complete it himself, scattering his son's ashes and forging friendships along the way.

Loved it.
