Last Film You Watched

Saw the new Bond film (in one of the 6 screens it was on at my 8-screen local)... thought it was fairly similar to most of the other Daniel Craig ones, although I really liked the last stretch of it, which I thought they really nailed. Freddy Mercury was quite good as the villain - while Bond baddies are generally pantomime stuff, he underplays it quite nicely (unlike, say, Javier Bardem when he had a stab at it). Lea Seydoux was very good in it, and it's a pity Ana de Armas wasn't given more to do. Didn't think the new 007 character worked at all, to be honest.

The new bond, much like the others since the high that was casino Royale thought it was a let down, seemed to go on forever yet managed to feel rushed at times like they were trying to cram stuff in, the bad guys in this and the last few films have been hilariously bad aswel

Saw the new James Bond yesterday. Personally I thought it was great and the perfect end to Craig's Bond. I really don't understand the people on Twitter crying about it being 'woke' lol

Remember the film Hostel? Me and my ex put it on on a comedown , ended up getting naughty because the first half of it is pretty hot. Word of warning, at the point of ..... you know, seeing a girl with an eyeball hanging out of her head isn't the sexiest thing that will ever happen to you.

I really enjoyed this. Loved the setting and the period recreation, good writing, solid filmmakers and an impressive cast make a compelling watch out of a fairly standard B movie premise. It pulls it off largely through delivering properly rounded characters with realistic motivation and a refreshingly slow pace.

Recommended. Netflix.

The thing that surprised me most about this film, is considering it’s Russian made, how much freedom the makers of it where given to show the “ old Soviet Union “ in a very bad light.

Enjoyable film.

Yes, implicitly and explicitly very critical of the state. Also, how technically good it was across the board, cinematography, sound design, sets, practical and vfx, for a couple of million dollars its actually really impressive.

In fact, as I've thought about it today the more impressed I am.
