Last Film You Watched

I seem to feel that way about all new movies. We live in the age of hype and bull$%it. So much dross is released that will never stand up to the test of time. Look at how poor the Star Wars sequel trilogy seems after a few years, and yet it was not long ago that everyone was proclaiming Episode VII as the mother of all Rebirths.
Yeah. I am not sure that tastes have changed so much to account for the weird discrepancy between reviews and the actual movies we are seeing.

Funnily enough, the sequel trilogy makes the prequels look like masterpieces! Well, except for the Phantom Menace lol. At least they actually felt like real Star Wars movies due to how Lucas set up the camera, used his scene fades, etc.

Been waiting for weeks to get alone time to sit down and watch Dune

Well, it was well and truly worth the wait. That film was amazing, it absolutely flew by. I’ve never read the book, but after reading reviews I was quite worried that I’d get lost in the film. But that was written fantastically.

One of the best films I’ve seen in a very long time, I’ll be watching that again. Cannot wait for the second, just hope it’s out soonish

It’s a scfi masterpiece and is massively better than the first, which is incredibly rare.

I’ve never seen the original, just couldn’t get into it. But that was just phenomenal, my only gripe is I wish I would have got to see at the cinema

I saw it once with a mate and then went back to really “ watch it “ by myself.

I could’ve watched it for six hours and still not been bored.

It’s up there with Blade Runner for me.

It reminded me of when I watched the first LOTR, when it ended I was shocked that 2 and half hours had passed

That second part can’t come quick enough

The Matrix Resurrections. Wasn’t as bad as I feared given the original sequels, time that has passed, the trailers and the reactions of some that I’ve spoken to about it having seen it.

I mean it isn’t good by any stretch of the imagination but not quite the absolute wreck I was expecting. Wouldn’t go higher than 5 out of 10 and would probably give it closer to 4. Some very odd casting choices, 1 in particular.

2nd part only just got agreed after first film came out so you're gonna be waiting a wee while.
Currently has a release date of October 2023 so not a horrendous wait given how recently it was officially announced. Read Villeneuve saying that he had everything in place for part 2 so was pretty much ready to go when they finally green lit it.

Woah, this was heavy. The parents of a high school killer meet with one of the victims parents.

Incredible, intense acting. Raises some interesting points. Very good

I've actually just been the cinema to see it, immense on the big screen and the soundtrack, well my TV wouldnt do it justice.
The scenes when the worm is coming, unreal, as good as anything George Lucas did IMO
