This was brilliant. a film that can be done so badly (or boringly) in the wrong hands given the subjects but Schrader tends to get it right and he did here, again. Good to see Isaac back from his comic book films
Have you seen Molly's Game with Jessica Chastain? That's a good gambling film.

Mississippi grind is another great gambling film if you haven’t seen that.

This one isn't really about gambling in the end. The synopsis and trailer doesn't give much away which is a nice change
Don’t Look Up. Was alright. Very long.
I'm pretty much the same apart from having seen his TV stuff like Spaced. Usually like his stuff but still haven't got round to a lot of it.
Eternals on Disney+. I’m quite a fan of the MCU (less so the comics and their lore) but this for me was a bit meh.
Struggle to see how they fit into the wider MCU unless they all clear off into space and it ties into GOTG.
Also liked the Blade films so interesting how that will play out but this Ebony Blade business and a Knight type character
Plus how they going to reconcile a load of new islands in the Indian Ocean about the size of of the UK and as high as Everest, or they just going to never mention that again?

Just finished the Fate Heaven’s Feel trilogy - absolute masterpieces, albeit incredibly dark masterpieces

Just seen Licorice Pizza, good fun, 70s bubblegum coming of age type film, with a series of odd events but one central theme, well written film.
Released about 5 years ago, but I somehow missed it. Watched "Hell or High Water," a bank-robber film that takes place in west Texas. Really quite good. Really captures a sense of the place, but like the film "Fargo" (taking place in North Dakota and Minneapolis) I wonder how much of the character depictions were stereotype versus how much was real. In any case, it was good film and screenplay, with good acting. I recommend.
3 of the 4 on the SR team, and 3 in the QRF were from SDVT-1.
I was stationed there when this all went down, and we lost 5 guys from our team. SDVT-2 and ST10 lost guys from the QRF (and Danny Dietz who was SDVT-2 and on the SR team).
I knew all the guys from SDVT-1 who died, and sadly the biggest douche was the one who survived (that's Marcus Lutrell).
I still have our commemorative coins that were minted to raise money for the families.
