Last Film You Watched

Went the pictures to see The Batman this week.

Unfortunately I chose to have a couple of pints at the pub opposite beforehand.

Was enjoying it for the first hour and after that I was less interested in Batman Vs Riddler and more preoccupied with the battle between bladder and trousers.

The film is 3 hours long and threatens to end several times only for your hopes to evaporate like urine droplets on upholstery.

I was going to just run to the bathroom but a girl next to me did that and tripped over a bag and made a very conspicuous scene and I didn't want to risk tripping up and my bladder inevitably prolapsing.

Anyway it was pretty good.

A Walk Among The Tombstones.

Not bad, but not great. Liam Neeson was on decent form, but the plot was poorly paced and predictable with a few tropes chucked in.

Could have been a lot better.

I had the same issue. I have since learned of an app called 'runpee' that highlights inconsequential segments of a film.

During The Batman I darted out when Bruce visited The hospital for his heart to heart with Alfred, when the best choice would have been the car chase. (7 minutes of action but essentially very samey)

I enjoyed the cinematography and the sound track, however I can't decide if I bought into the movie enough. It felt as if it was trying to be edgy.

I see where you are coming from. I really enjoyed it however it’s not without its faults and three hours isn’t needed for a Batman film imo.

Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films

Well worth a watch if you have any affection for any of the films made by Cannon. A minor criticism is that it skirts around some very dark elements regarding how it would have been as a workplace but as a retrospective of the films and the erratic process behind it all it's well worth looking at.

Machete Maidens Unleashed!

Pretty similar documentary about the Philippines exploitation film industry with plenty of interviews with the likes of Pam Grier, John Landis, Joe Dante and Roger Corman.

Both on the same BluRay as well with plenty of extras. If you've been considering it then I'd say it's well worth getting hold of.

The Adam Project.
It's on Netflix, which explains.
Good idea to be honest.
Rubbish execution.
A mention of Back to the Future in a film more far fetched has a touch of irony.
Actually really enjoyed it. Reminded of films I watched as a kid, back in the day.
Liked the little references to avengers with the dad being the father of time travel, and star trek, linguistics teacher.
Thought it was daft, but an enjoyable 90 minutes.

Red Rocket, brilliant low budget alternative film, it's about a ex porn star trying to get a normal life again in Texas, comedy, it's really funny. Fella is a con man, liar, confidence trickster type, its proper messed up, hillbilly exploitation, be warned theres lots of sex in it.
