Groundhog day worth a watch?

This morning whilst "working" from home I watched:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

for the first time in absolute beards.

Films don't get funnier. An absolute classic movie. Much prefer it to Life of Brian as well which may be controversial.

Watched 'This is the End' for the second time last night. Thumbs up.

I thought Costners Draft Day where he is the GM of the Browns was a cheeky way for ESPN to promote their coverage of the draft. I can't for the life of me see anyone going to this movie.

Awesome movie. Its funny to think now but Christian Slater was being talked up as the next Nicholson after this movie.

Watched The Amazing Spiderman this afternoon as the new one looks decent so thought I'd catch up.

Was stoked that it was actually decent. And it makes the Tobey Maguire ones look exactly what they are. Rubbish.

Liked the kid who plays Parker/Spidey. Good casting. He's a geek but like a skater geek so he's actually cool without trying to be. Worked really well with a character like this as I always found it hard to believe Peter Parker could go from being such a [Poor language removed] to beating off all the bad guys. Worked a lot better here.

Yeah they do the same old story. Gets bitten, Uncles dies yada yada yada but they seem to have just done it better.

My main complaints about Maguire's Spider-mans was that there wasn't enough actual Spidey being boss and swinging about and battering baddies. Well this had loads of that and that's what you're after surely.

Yeah. Decent. How a super hero movie should be.

And Emma Stone is fit.

Looking forward to the sequel.

Was happy to see it got a good score on IMDB too. I don't always agree with their ratings but for this type of movie a 7 is really good.

Watched Shutter Island again last night, fine work from Di Caprio, who I think is a very good actor.

Always thought that Tobey McGuire's Spiderman films were over-rated - a bit too directly translated straight from the comics. The remakes are more character-driven, and will probably hold up better when you look back at them.
