It’s deliberately ambiguous and is put there as a head wrecker.

Take it one step further.

How did him and Rachel conceive a daughter, if they were both replicants ?

Which is the whole premise of Blade Runner 2049.
That is alluded to by Leto in 2049, the thing is, he had put 'the magic' in Rachel as best he could, what he didn't for-SEE (not an accident) is that she carried similar to Roy in that her code left her compromised, hence the life bubble in the sequel. It's the give and take of the complex, the ghost in the machine, the touch of the divine resplendent in corruption.

There's ten odd cuts out there, he has the dream, Olmos is in on the con, Deckard is one of hundreds, Batty has escaped before, part of the mystique.

Thing about Alien is, "crew expendable" - the Nostromo wasn't the first ship sent there. That's why Ash was sent along to protect the monster, they'd run into trouble before. Suddenly we have a view of the worker as fodder for a grander plan and a not very subtle commentary on corporate America...
Wowzers! I can see you put a lot of thought into this! 🤯

Yes... But then I remember someone in the film saying that Deckard was designed to fall in love with her, as you say intentionally ambiguous.

Watched "They shall not grow old" a documentary about WW1 from a British perspective. As a kid I used to read up on WW1 and WW2 and had a pretty good knowledge of the brutatlity...but (thankfully) that knowledge was mostly displaced by more passive stuff. This film has amazing and shocking footage. Really moving narratives. Some of the scenes are quite tough to watch (e.g., rats eating bodies, piles of dead men and horses among indifferent soldiers, poison gas attacks). I didn't know about the spring mud, where if you fell off the "duck boards" moving from trench to trench, you would literally fall into the mud and sink to your death. Crazy sad stuff.

Watched the first Mission Impossible for the first time last night as Film4 are showing all of the series during the week in prep for the newest one

Don’t know how I’ve not bothered with them before, great popcorn flick and Cruise is a nutter for some of the stunts he does, particularly the one with the helicopter blade near the end
Who knew Jean Reno was so good a helicopter pilot as well...

I saw the new one last week in Abu Dhabi. (They had a 'premier' screening for a lot of the local crew and a good mate of mine was the local casting director so I went along)

Most of the cast showed up (including TC) and enjoyed the film with everyone.

No spoilers. It's ace
