Last Film You Watched

Watched Captain Correli’s Mandolin last night, personally I thought it was a good watch and really enjoyed it.
After that I went old school and watched The Hunt for Red October, again another film I still enjoy watching after seeing it numerous times.
And lastly ‘Strays’… I recently saw this in the cinema and it gave me belly laughs so watched it again last night… good fun.
Another one ruined by an offender. (jeffrey jones). Films and tv I've enjoyed previously is starting to stack up in the 'ruined' zone.

Just finished watch the Lord of the rings trilogy. Like most of us we've all seen it million times but every time i watch the ending where the eagles pick up Frodo & Sam i cant help think the whole thing would be a lot shorter & a lot easier if Gandalf summoned the eagles on day 1 & they flew Frodo straight to the mountain to pop the ring in the lava.

Am i missing something? I've never read the book.

Great trilogy of books and films.

I watched Remember The Titans, last night good film, with some good messages around Team spirit.

So... funny one this. Despite his missteps I do look forward to an unseen Ridley, and its full of people I like. Its very well crafted, screenplay is solid, acting is very good (particularly Affleck actually), vfx used well enough in his usual world building business, it's quite brutal at times and I like a Rashomon style yarn. It's just a bit... flat. There's something un-dynamic about it, it doesn't have a lot of sweep and never really pulled me in.

Even with guff like Prometheus there’s scenes that burn into your memory, and stuff like The Counsellor and Exodus are at least laughably rubbish.

So definitely not a great Scott, but nor is it a Ridley squat, it neither impressed nor annoyed and I'll never give it a second thought again.

Meh. On Disney.

It was a real weird film.

Must’ve cost a packet to make and didn’t really go anywher.

Put Mission Implausible - Dead Reckoning (Pt1) on earlier, could not get into it at all. Turned it off after about an hour or so.
Only thing I recall is Tom Cruise is starting to look every bit of 61 despite how much make up / soft focus they use.
Will give another go but not holding out much hope.

Agree with this, it was biege in a film.

Felt flat and instantly forgettable.

Reckon there's a film in there, was it tampered with by the studio like bladerunner was? (11 years ago, so made 12 years ago, if he was releasing his directors edition it'd have happened by now. Shame)
He had pretty much full creative control I think, its down to that hack Damon Lindelof and his dim-witted nonsensical screen play. The original Spaihts version would likely have been far better.

I was on the fence about getting rid of Prime but now they’ve started cutting adverts into movies I’m all out. What a crock of dung that is for the money we all pay. Trying to watch Smokin’ Aces and getting stopped every 20 minutes with adverts for Neighbours ffs.
