Last Film You Watched

Human Traffic

Forgotten British 90s film that has surfaced on Netflix, about a group of smack head mates going on a bender at the weekend, escaping from their mundane existence.

It was brilliant, I loved how surreal, quirky but raw and realistic it was, brought back a lot of memories from 90s/early 00s clubland culture.

Love this film. Tho it is to blame for inflicting Danny Dyer on the world. The guys who wrote Inbetweeners defo watched it too.

One of my all-time faves. Watch it all the time.

Watched Napoleon and thought its kind of meh, especially pacing. Battle scenes and washed out color grading also not my cup of the tea.
Yeah, historical accuracy (for people who care for that) is thrown out of the window, Austerlitz is basically turned into fantasy battle, ambush on the ice (that was more of a myth). But its Ridley Scott and that was sort of expected.

Waterloo and War and Peace by Sergei Bondarchuk from 1960s are still best Napoleonic movies for epic battle scenes, but guy had 20 000 Red Army soldiers on his disposal to play Napoleonic era soldiers, impossible today.

Saw Napoleon last night. Its definitely an entertaining way to kill a few hours but its a total trainwreck from a historical perspective. So much context missed out and so much is just glossed over. The battle scenes where more akin to a fantasy film then anything. Don't get me wrong, its a fun film. I just think that it could've been so much better.

True, but to be fair I thought he was perfectly suited to this. A completely lost soul, out of depth, out of touch with who he is, manifesting as that one real n*bhead that we all know.

The scene where he has an 'epiphany' about the dark side and the light side of the Force was so real, that headspace is so recognisable.

At least they bothered to use proper battle flags in this movie (generals of those times were more upset with losing battle standards than soldiers).

Actual Austrian (Habsburg) battle flag captured at Battle of Austerlitz (similar one were used in movie)
