Last Film You Watched

I've said before, I do enjoy an Alien clone, and while this doesn't merit a lost gem klaxon, its worth a few tins on a Saturday night

Leviathan.

It's surprisingly well put together for an Alien/Abyss/Thing knock off with a particularly good cast including Peter Weller as a pound shop Ed Harris and Ernie Hudson as a pound shop Yaphet Kotto. Looks pretty good for a De Laurentis production of the era and its quite a decent story until it goes a bit off the rails at the end.

Lot of fun, and the sort of higher grade b movie that you don't often get nowadays.

Available on YouTube on a HD rip weirdly.

Also, whatever happened to Amanda Pays?

She was a bit scrumptious.
Just read a few reviews of this. Think I may apply my focus elsewhere. To say it gets a kickin' is a gross understatement. Yikes!

@ste d' indica just watched the end of that 'film' as I had been shepherded towards a quite difficult and contentious part, I thought the harlem globetrotters 3 pointer jaws finish was it, oh boy was I wrong. What were they thinking? How did any of em ever get work again??? Incredible.

I’ll have to watch Drive again tbf. When it came out so much of the hype was around Winding-Refn and he was lauded as the next big Director. I thought it was tropey guff and 12 years (wowsers) later I’m feeling vindicated as his career looks like it really hasn’t taken off at all.

I've watched Drive twice. Looks good, sounds good but it's empty. I'd say Gosling was delighted he just had to stand around saying very little, nice handy job

I'm a fan of Drive but really didn't think much of Only God Forgives.

I'd watch Neon Demon as it looks interesting but OGF was just plain old tedious edgelord territory so I'm not sure I can be arsed.

Is that not the point? That he's only alive during the stress of the heist, jeopardy or nothing? Been a few films that have explored modern day masculinity and the idea of self.

Thought Gosling was perfectly cast for Drive tbh and he all but reprises the roll as Officer K, in Blade Runner 2049, which is also a film I have a lot of time for too.

So, with a little more investigating, ended up looking into a favourite of mine, a certain Walter Hill (yes, that one, that produced 'Alien' and directed '48 hours' and 'the warriors') And happened upon this lost potential gem...
