I'm a fan of Drive but really didn't think much of Only God Forgives.

I'd watch Neon Demon as it looks interesting but OGF was just plain old tedious edgelord territory so I'm not sure I can be arsed.

Only God Forgives is one of the worst films I’ve ever seen. I have a policy of not walking out of the cinema during a film but that really tested me. Awful, awful film

Definitely worth the upgrade. Obviously the film itself is great but Zhora and Pris could easily have taken Deckard out. Or at least in Zhora's case comfortably got away.

Both Zhora and Pris make fundamentally stupid decisions at moments of great advantage. It's these moments of madness that swing those situations in Deckard's favour rather than any previously inhibited behaviours or abilities coming to the fore.

Deckard is a skin job, there's thousands of him, waiting to be thawed out to chase down the latest set of replicants with ideas the authorities don't like. Batty is the difference, an upgraded mind. It is this creator vs created that plays out foreshadowed with Tyrell, then the dove scene of revelation. There's every chance Deckard has the abilities of the rest of the skin jobs but isn't programmed to use them - consider how Leon dies and who is responsible, no training and no experience and a perfect headshot with an unknown weapon? Basic programming. They're all killers first. Militaristic purposes first and foremost.

Miles and miles off. The stuff with just Costner and Duvall is fine, but the rest is rehash. I love Gambon, but he aint no Palance. It's a mash up of previous films, stitched together with some sort of over sentimental love story rubbish. Naughty this. Stunts amusing tbf.
