Last Film You Watched

The Holdovers - an exclusive boarding school in New England, 1971, kids and misanthropic classics teacher who can't go home for Christmas.

It's that rarest of movies, one that you fall in love with as you are watching it. Paul Giamatti headlines a cast that deliver convincing performances, from the first moment you feel like you're watching a movie from 1971 rather than just set then.

The director, Alexander Payne, has made other stuff that I enjoyed, but wouldn't necessarily watch twice - About Schmidt the one that springs to mind - but I loved this. Trademark bittersweet feel throughout, but the cast elevates it.
Didnt he do sideways also? Am excellent film, in my opinion

Miracle club.
Mild comedy about a group of ladies going on a church trip to lourdes .
Cathy Bates,Maggie Smith ect well acted
Might be more for the ladies
,I enjoyed it with coming from a Catholic background.
Had a certain charm.about it.
Touched me this, without going into reasons - because spoilers - I would recommend it as an easy Sunday movie with a decent feelgood ending.

Doesn't come near other recent'ish racing movies like Rush or Le Mans 66 but still enjoyable enough.
Mann didn't hold back with one certain scene 😟

6.5'ish/10
