Just out of Dune 2. Didn't mean to leave it so long but life got in the way. In short: Absolutely phenomenal imo.

Chalamet and Ferguson excellent, the scale of it perfect. Bardem low key brilliant. And it really stayed true to Herbert's fundamantal message about prophets and messiahs and heroes. I was worried that was something they'd tone down in favour of a more straightforward hero's journey.

Some of the scenes, when he rides the worm the first time, the final battle with all the keggers coming out of the sand, Ferguson with the heel turn after drinking the worm piss got me proper on the edge of my seat.
I don't think there is any other director in the last 20 years, maybe more, who could have translated Dune to the big screen as successfully as Villenueve

Along with the first, it`s straight into the sc-fi classics top ten for me.

All of the scenes with the worm riding was just mind blowing.

Green Book on Netty F

A poignant and heartwarming look at an unlikely friendship. With outstanding performances from Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali, the film tackles themes of race and class with sensitivity. Its exploration of finding common ground despite differences is both moving and inspiring, leaving viewers with a message of hope and understanding.

Might not be the right thread, but has anybody managed to find a decent "copy" of Godzilla minus one?

I like sailing the seas but can only ever find rubbish cam versions and the film has been out for months!
Can't help you out there mate.

What I CAN get you is a decent copy of this:

Haven't seen it myself, but I do know it's starring Tom Arnold...
So by the look of things, it might just be a documentary about his marriage to Roseanne Barr. 🤔

Sulis 1907 (English title: The Riot)
The most Norwegian movie I've seen in a long time. Predictable, clunky dialogue and every dialect in the country was represented, which made my brain melt. I thought Norwegian film had evolved past this now, but I guess not. It ain't all bad though, the setting came off as authentic and good looking, and I thought the villain was pretty good. 5/10

So finally saw Dune pt2 last night and echoing everyones opinion, it is as breathtaking and spectacular as stated and I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

However, again as mentioned before, Chris Walken is a problem. It's weird because he's playing a character he's played before in the Emperor. The Machiavellian mastermind ruling from afar just like Things to do in Denver, the ruthless power hungry ruler from King of New York. He should have been perfect but it appears he needs a contemporary setting. Chris Walken in space turns into a jarring parody that disrupts the story.

Can't help but feel someone like Jeremy Irons or Ralph Fiennes could have worked far better.

Dune 2. Quite good innit? Bit mumbly at times, which is a bit of a problem if you don't know the story, eg:
I couldn't make out the line about RF being part of the Harkonnen family
got most of it, but had to confirm through context. When is Part 3??

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. I liked it. As with many (modern) films there were a fair few bits that didn't make sense, especially during the end battle
where did the "parents" disappear to for 5/10 mins, why wasn't Phoebe focus of their plan with the copper/brass plated proton pack, how do you plate and re-assemble one of those things that quickly anyhow?
, but it was still an entertaining 2 hours. Didn't have the humour etc of the originals, but that doesn't necessarily make it worse, just different (fwiw it's obviously not as good as them, but still good imo).

Reading some reviews of the new Godzilla film, this made me laugh.

"At one point in the film, Godzilla, weary from all that stomping around, lies down to take a well-deserved nap in the middle of Rome’s Colosseum. It’s the most relatable moment in the film."

I will watch literally ANYTHING these lot serve up in this monster universe. I can't wait to go see this even if it's bloody crap lol
