Just out of Dune 2. Didn't mean to leave it so long but life got in the way. In short: Absolutely phenomenal imo.
Chalamet and Ferguson excellent, the scale of it perfect. Bardem low key brilliant. And it really stayed true to Herbert's fundamantal message about prophets and messiahs and heroes. I was worried that was something they'd tone down in favour of a more straightforward hero's journey.
I don't think there is any other director in the last 20 years, maybe more, who could have translated Dune to the big screen as successfully as VillenueveSome of the scenes, when he rides the worm the first time, the final battle with all the keggers coming out of the sand, Ferguson with the heel turn after drinking the worm piss got me proper on the edge of my seat.
Along with the first, it`s straight into the sc-fi classics top ten for me.
All of the scenes with the worm riding was just mind blowing.
