Good few years away at least. Villeneuve has stated he wants a bit of a break from making Dune films and also wants Chalamet to age a bit. Work has begun on the script but the film hasn’t been officially confirmed yet (although surely that is just a matter of time).

Well, unless they pump him full of HGH, his going to be waiting a very long time.

Chalamet looks like a 16 year old anorexic girl, and I'm not trying to be mean, but I think it's just his genes.

I haven’t read the books but I think the Chalamet thing is a bit of an excuse to postpone part 3 for a bit. Dune Messiah which it will be based on also sounds like more of a beast to make and he’s said he’ll only do it if he can do it properly. He’s also said he’ll only make it if he can properly tell the story and it sounds like quite a difficult story to tell if they stay faithful to the book.

Pfft the fourth one is where it's at.

Watched 15 minutes of it then gave up.
Just wasn't for me

Lots will have to be CGI and it will be very difficult to make it look realistic and in keeping with the aesthetic, especially as the first 2 films visually have been absolutely magnificent. Blade runner 2049 was also mesmerising so if anyone can make it this director can, I hope he does.

The next book is Dune Messiah, Arrakis (where the spice is) is the planet. I don’t want to put too much of the plot here as it will spoil it but follow this link if you need to know mate:

Just googled it, and it seems you could be right apparently Nolan is reluctant to make sequels ( with the exception of the Batman trilogy) that’ll teach me.
