Watched Godzilla x Kong the new empire.

Loved it, couldn't give a flying [Poor language removed] about previous posts, loved it.
If some sad [Poor language removed] wants to make an issue of it then so be it

Come on fella, I grew up with Godzilla as well. Pretty sad, they're giant monsters. Embarrassing

I heard Big Kong swings little Kong like a baseball bat and I havent wanted to watch a film as much in my life.

Most reviews I have read said its mindless campy fun, count me in.

Godzilla v Kong 2 featured a lot of what you’d expect and want, i.e. massive creatures knocking lumps out of each other.

But it was also strangely quite boring for a lot of it. Doesn’t help that about 90% of the major characters can’t speak and so those that can have to do lots and lots of exposition.

Star Trek - The Motion Picture

Wardrobe choices that lead to an astonishing number of clearly visible penis outlines.
George Takei hitting the gym before filming and completely outgunning William "Girdle" Shatner when they're both in similar t-shirts.
Spocks hippy haircut at the start and Bones' massive beard and swinger outfit ensemble making me want a spin-off "Space Easy Rider".

There's a kind of good if slow sci-fi story and excellent model work in there as well but that's pretty much a secondary consideration to the points above.

“Eight for silver” aka “the cursed”.
Watchable monster horror, could have done with being a few minutes shorter but it wasn’t terrible. I would be amazed if the director wasn’t taking inspiration from the Resident evil video games (especially RE4 for some of the visuals and shots) there are striking similarities.

6 and a half chainsaws out of 10

The Sweet East

a really surreal weird america road trip film. It won't be for everyone but we thought it was great. I think this is the second film in a row that Simon Rex has played an adult falling for a barely legal girl lol

So finally saw Dune pt2 last night and echoing everyones opinion, it is as breathtaking and spectacular as stated and I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

However, again as mentioned before, Chris Walken is a problem. It's weird because he's playing a character he's played before in the Emperor. The Machiavellian mastermind ruling from afar just like Things to do in Denver, the ruthless power hungry ruler from King of New York. He should have been perfect but it appears he needs a contemporary setting. Chris Walken in space turns into a jarring parody that disrupts the story.

Can't help but feel someone like Jeremy Irons or Ralph Fiennes could have worked far better.

I watched it again and the emperor is meant to be feeble. Its only his image that is curated by the witches. Baron harkonnen says in part 1 something about the emperor being weak and that is why we see the weaknesses of the emperor once the curtain is pulled back.

In fact it is his daughter who is the strong one.

Dune 2. Quite good innit? Bit mumbly at times, which is a bit of a problem if you don't know the story, eg:
I couldn't make out the line about RF being part of the Harkonnen family
got most of it, but had to confirm through context. When is Part 3??

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. I liked it. As with many (modern) films there were a fair few bits that didn't make sense, especially during the end battle
where did the "parents" disappear to for 5/10 mins, why wasn't Phoebe focus of their plan with the copper/brass plated proton pack, how do you plate and re-assemble one of those things that quickly anyhow?
, but it was still an entertaining 2 hours. Didn't have the humour etc of the originals, but that doesn't necessarily make it worse, just different (fwiw it's obviously not as good as them, but still good imo).

Spoilers arent working for me for some reason...but to make it simple...the witches speak about and show interbreeding across races.

We saw an example of this in Dune 2 and think about Pauls mother and that the other witches are sleeping with other dukes / kings etc in the realm.
