The First Omen.

Prequel to the original.

A valiant attempt to make a film that marries up with the original, that ultimately fails.

It’s filmed in a way, that tries to give the impression that it was filmed in the 70’s, which makes it feel all arty and like a Hammer Horror reproduction.

It’s not all bad, the setting in Italy is beautiful, the lead is really good and generally the writing and acting is good.

It’s just that nothing really happens for a big chunk of the film and it doesn’t really get going until about half way through.

It’d be a good one to watch at home by yourself.

They’ve left the ending open for another film to link in with the first.

Always thought the original Omen trilogy were ripe for a remake. There’s a great story to be told there, but the original movies were very patchy and didn’t quite land right.

This is the best since the original, it’s just falls a bit flat at the end.

It’ll be interesting to see if they do another one, that links this film to the original, as they left the ending wide open for another.

Been watching films called invisible guardian and legacy of bones on netfix
part of a three films based on a book series.
Spanish films with English dub,
Detective story.
About a female detective who has to return to her hometown to investigate a case, there she has to face her family and its dark history its all intertwined with a bit of a supernatural angle.
Set in the basque region( always seems to be raining)
Found them really enjoyable second one particularly.
Can wait to see the third and final one.
Not to fast paced but keeps you in the story without over doing it.
Is that Bitter Dasies ? I really enjoyed it.

Snooker is on ITV4 and looks like it could go the distance. How does this pertain to film? 'The silence of the lambs' is on straight after. Slap a 147 on that!

Who doesn't like a character study of a cannibalistic psychopath genius to send them gently off to sleep on a Sundays eve...
