Triangle of Sadness.

Loved it. Can imagine it might be a bit polarising but I thought it was brilliant.

Makes me want to revisit another of Ostunds films, The Square.

Night Game (1989)

Roy Scheider phones it in as a hard ass detective with a fiancee half his age and a future mother in law who he was seemingly banging back in the day. But that's not the plot - instead there's a killer going round murdering blonde babes every time the local baseball side are playing a night game. Did I mention Roy's borderline child bride is.....blonde. You know where this is going.

Really uneven and often dull slasher / police procedural / comedy-drama which spends ages focusing on really uninteresting stuff such as forthcoming nuptials and how much the gift of a television set should be appreciated while mentioning but not resolving the various criminal links in and around the investigating police force.

Bonus points for raging erotic saxophone, character actors everywhere, just the right amount of sleaze and some nice on location shooting. Also notable for a police captain who seems to be constantly on the precipice of a heart-attack, the worlds most impatient man waiting to use a phone booth and some really bad Schneider dancing.

I can’t remember what I did last week but as soon as I saw this , then the trailer I remembered the majority of the plot and even watching the VHS from the video shop with my late dad .
