Iron Giant is absolutely brilliant for a cartoonSaw the Deadpool/Wolverine movie a few weeks ago and thought it great entertainment and genuinly funny - almost too quick to keep up with. Also last week saw the 'Wild Robot' animation which is a bit like Iron Giant but definately well animated but a bit too long. Both were first movies I have seen in a cinema since pre-Covid so interesting. We found a bougie small place in Raleigh NC, but still dont think I could go back to a packed megatheater for a blockbuster. Just too many people.
One of those movies that's almost a work of art, but you can really only watch it once. Jared Leto was brilliant in it.Watched requiem for a dream last night
Kept thinking of the saw films with the music score
Was a good film. I thought there would be more twists but it’s just a realistic portrayal of the spiral of drug addictions and loneliness and shows that addiction doesn’t discriminate what class you come from. I did think the woman was getting scammed by someone about appearing on tv and it would turn out to be her son scamming her or that the juice guy on tv would be her husband who died which is why she always watches that show. I also didn’t understand why the son didn’t go back to his mother’s place and sell the expensive tv he bought her when they were struggling for money.
7/10
And speaking of which, according to Mr. Leto, they ruined Joker by casting Phoenix instead of him.joker (2019) vs the machinist (2004)
I'm struggling with joker, I can't lie. I liked the lies Ledger told in 'The dark knight', kernels of truth in the show.
sick of him at 'lord of war', can't think why.One of those movies that's almost a work of art, but you can really only watch it once. Jared Leto was brilliant in it.

Oh, and watched the new Beetlejuice sequel: 'Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice'.
I was massively disappointed in it. I was expecting so much more.
Probably because he was a whiney little tit in it.sick of him at 'lord of war', can't think why.
Beetlejuice ii was always a hiding to nothing, should have gone to Hawaii after all. The more nuts the better.
tends to be his go to zone?Probably because he was a whiney little tit in it.
They should have just left Beetlejuice alone, as a classic from the 80's... This one stunk, like they made for a quick cash-grab.
That's where we are... They're making remakes of remakes now! It's getting ridiculous!tends to be his go to zone?
Beetlejuice in Hawaii, 30 years ago, with a more lively Keaton. Ryder has made Frankie Boyle rewrite one of his jokes... "Have you seen Amanda Holden? She looks like haunted tupperwear" It's Wino now.
For that matter, when's Ridley Scott going to chop up Prometheus and give us the directors cut? None of this bladerunner crank with seven different versions first. I blame Lucas and Speilberg for this new fangled cash grab nonsense, he'll agree to remake Jaws yet.
Are they all so devoid of ideas now that any old schlock that ruins a previous great seems a worthwhile idea? Someone pay em to leave previous works alone.
The iron man you American heathens! (It's a great cartoon)Iron Giant is absolutely brilliant for a cartoon
Todd Phillips has shamelessly stolen every idea that goes into that bloated pretentious mess, it's an awful film by a director who is not as smart as he thinks he is.joker (2019) vs the machinist (2004)
