Last Film You Watched

Kick Ass 2, not impressed to be honest. I'm not that big a fan of the first one but for all its violence and vulgarity it was essentially good natured. Sequel is a bit of a rehash, tries a little too hard to top the original and just lacks a bit of heart.

Jennifer Garner is fit tho, yes?

was she the young lass? don't remember how she looked.

it's quite rare a woman in a film really gets me in that way, and when it does happen it's often because of a magnetic personality: JJL in Hudsucker Proxy, Deedee Pfeiffer in Vamp, Milla Jovovich in Fifth Element...

We touched on this subject in another thread...many Anglo peoples elevate a woman's attractiveness to an important part of the film's appeal.

I meant Jennifer Connelly FFS.

Requiem for a Dream.

Drugs, depression, double-enders.

8.3/10

It's a film I'm glad I've seen, it's an absolute tour de force, but would definitely be happy to never see again.

5/10 for me. Tiresomely anti-drugs. No light in the film at all (and I like the dark arts). All 5 points go to the actress who played the mother...excellent performance.

Ellen Burstyn is fantastic, but I don't think of it as an anti drug diatribe, the subject is addiction, whether that's illegal or state sanctioned drugs, sex, power or consumption. Also the debasement and objectification of people because of them, and the associated neuroses.
