Last Film You Watched

I didnt really get Drive. At the start i was expecting him to be all cool Steve Mcqueen dude, with lots of roaring engines and squealing tyres but instead he just sort of gives mono-syllabic answers and grins like a simpleton and there isnt much in the way of car chases or even cool cars either.

What did you make of the violence? I also wanted a little more in the way of them fleshing out his extra curricular activities - though it got hinted at, I wanted a little more adrenalin. But I understood that it was a study in the character and not an all actioner.

CIA, Spec ops in Afghanistan... the objective is basically some sort of ufo stuff. but it's basically trouble. kind of like an xfiles type episode.

not great, but a good concept and if it was higher budget the story could be retold

Doesn't really know what type of film it is.

I'd call it a dark comedy if anything. I agree with the description though in that it's difficult to describe. However, I give it an 8/10 for whatever reason.

F***ing brilliant film.

Spot on. There are no other words to describe it. Especially when you consider the last film I watched was Gulliver's Travels. It was sad to see the likes of Billy Connolly and James Corden caught up in such a pile of ****. I think I'll have to watch Lock, Stock and Three Smoking Barrels again to remind myself of how good British actors in an British film are.

Just watched The Eagle. Nothing great but entertaining noneless.

Hellboy 2 and Moon were brilliant.

Agreed on 8/10. I really enjoyed this film and thought it was a good laugh at times.

Margin Call is worth a visit. So is Ides of March if you ignore some strange plot turns.

It seemed like a strange character to study.

I got the impression he had Aspergers Syndrome. He didnt seem to know how to interact with others, either just smiling or giving short answers when people spoke to him. When he had to get a bit tasty hed suddenly switch into a complete psycho.

But when it came to fixing and driving cars he was awesome.

Its one of those films where you think "Reservoir Dogs - whatever" and then you watch it and you remember how good it was.

Still cant believe it was banned on video when it first came out!
