Last Film You Watched

Johnny Dangerously with Michael Keaton, its been over a decade since i last watched it but it was still quite funny. I was quite suprised by how good it was actually.

Finally watched Gravity, having really rated Prisoner of Azkaban and Children of Men from the same director (both easy 9/10's).

Well...disappointed to be fair: cheesy dialogue, having to be reminded countless times of her humanity by way of deceased daughter (not a spoiler, no worries). Kubrick's 2001 never saw fit to push our emotional buttons with his characters that way, and that's often seen as one of the greatest films of all time so he had a point.

Clooney was annoying.

Gravity would've disappeared into the ether of forgotten movies were it not for the spectacular use of camera & FX work. Cuaron might've overdid some of the swinging/panning shots but they were still pretty frakkin' amazing. Wondering how much of the camera work was real and how much digitally-panned?

6/10 in the end, same as Under The Skin. And like that film, Gravity's still worth a watch, but ultimately is too up its own arse.
PoA was the most well done out of all the potter movies I think

We had it on our home beamer...nice home cinema with hefty sound...was wowed by the visuals but generally agree it was a weak film otherwise.
having seen it on the cinema, I could never watch it on a TV now. I expect for a first-time viewer it would still look good on a TV but not if you have seen it on the cinema.

Pound Of Flesh - Jean-Claude Van Damme. Not his finest work by any means. The plot was like something form the 80's.

A former black-ops agent (Jean-Claude Van Damme) begins a blood-soaked quest to find the organ thieves who stole his kidney before he could donate it to his dying niece.

yeah, probably right...we don't have a tv, but our projector (abt a 3x1.5m screen) doesn't do 3D, tho' powerdvd has this red/blue 3D option thing which might work with those cheapo plastic glasses.

to be fair, i haven't been so impressed by a movie's visuals in a very long time...so big thumbs up just for that.

Watched Requiem for a dream the other night, still a really good film even if a bit dated. The mother in it is superb - off her head on speed for six months. Some of it is very moving, some of it is hard to watch although its worth it.

Mad Max: Furry Road. I especially liked the diegetic Doof Warrior. Go on, look it up...

The Muppets version? Blood Bag Kermit and Oink-iosa

You mean, a Harry Potter movie?

Over Gravity??

Ok mate.

2001 was a completely different film to be fair. 2001 is virtually a documentary. Cinéma vérité. Gravity is a unique, singular action visual Sci Fi thriller. Strange how it's popular on here to bandwagon bash it, but in reality it's the most visionary, complex and equally simple space film since 2001.
