Just watched Pride.
At the height of the miners' strike a group of London based gay rights activists start collecting money to support the strikers. Some good writing and familiar actors allow an amusing look back at what must have been a huge culture-clash between a working class community and an ostracised minority. It lives up to its billing as a bitter sweet comedy and (at least to my memory) realistically portrays society back in the early 1980s. They tried a bit too much to give it a happy ending but it is good entertainment nevertheless.
I'll have to check it out for sure then! Cheers!View attachment 13448
Just been to see this, massive fan of the first one.
The first one uses the fact that you don't really know what's going on to really build the suspense. This one isn't as suspenseful, relying more on some proper shocks and incredibly disturbing images. Not for the faint hearted and how it's only a 15 certificate is beyond me, it's an 18 all day long.
8 Boogey Men out of 10.
