I think that film wrote the definition for the word 'powerful'. Sheesh, I'm feeling sad just thinking about it.Shane Meadows films are very gritty and " British " mate.
If you've never seen one before have a look for - Dead Mans Shoes.
An incredible film considering the miniscule budget. The ending is incredibly powerful and sad. It'll stay with you for quite a while afterwards, so I'd advise watching it alone. Paddy Considine gives an incredible performance in the lead.
Hot Tub Time Machine as well...National Lampoons Vacation and Caddyshack?.
You know your Bonds. We get it this week.
Might go see The Martian instead and as a Bond fan for ever, it kills me to say that.
Did you know......How's yer Hitchcock?
Just watched Rear Window: silly, dated and underwhelming. And I like a bunch of old films so wasn't bothered by its 50's production. It was very well filmed and had an intriguing setup but that's it. Not a spoiler to say the film doesn't have a twist, but it sorely needed one. Some amateurish mistakes (something I don't normally notice), plot holes, unconvincing relationship dynamic between the two leads and a tame-arse ending.
This Hitchcock is often voted among the greatest films of all time, the last few dozen user reviews on IMDB praise it to the high heavens.
Like Interstellar, I guess this is one of those rare examples where I just don't connect with what everyone is raving about. 4/10 is fair in my book.
I enjoyed Psycho, thought Birds was clever & exciting despite a very slow build up, dimly remember Vertigo being alright. Got North by Northwest, Rope and Frenzy on my shelf still...hoping they're gonna be at least entertaining.
Did you know......
Hitchcock planned to film his materpiece about a serial killer going around town and was going to be shot on hand held cameras to capture the live feel of the whole thing.
He was turned down by the studio
think that was thew idea, would have been ahead of its time by quite a bit if he did shoot it.that might've been good...bit like found-footage.

...I'm a big James Stewart fan so Rear Window is an ok for me. Possibly my favourite Hitchcock film is Lifeboat. The whole film only contains the occupants of the Lifeboat, any idea how Hitchcock managed to fit in his cameo appearance?
in Rear Window he was in the pianist's flat.
I thought James Stewart played his role as well as could be asked for, to be fair. Was more the writing in the second half that went to pot.
Lifeboat sounds interesting.
