Heat is one of the best films I've ever seen .

I went the pictures to watch it, film was superb and I still rate the Bank robbery as the best gun fight scene I have ever seen

Just watch an Itallian mafia film Subbura, enjoyable to watch.
It is now going to be made into a series, which will be interesting

Not as gritty as Gamorrah but worth a watch

The shootout is easily the best I've ever seen In a film . And the 2 scenes with De Niro and Pacino are just quality .

Join the club, Alien 1 and 2 are the benchmark of Adult Sci-Fi...I don't see how they can be topped in my lifetime.

Turns out there was a sequel which Jack N directed; 'The Two Jakes'...which also showed that Nicholson was no Polanski...but few if any are

so 2/10 from 21st century...not too bad, i guess.

problem with a lot of modern films is how formulaic they all are, and too reliant on cgi. telling story through atmosphere is a skill lost on many.

The first two Terminators give them a run and are up there for me too.

Scott made an absolute mess of Prometheus, hope he does better with the sequel but I won't hold my breath, he's doing another Bladerunner as well I think.

Agreed. It's almost like everything 'has been done' so they struggle for originality and even when they find something it's poorly executed.

That could actually be said for quite a few movie genres at the moment.
