Well yeah, but if they're looking at clubs like Wolves then they're probably not the sort of owners we want
That was in response to @toffee_laura's link on the Jordanian. Not the consortium in this thread.

Saved mention of us to the last line...seems Leeds, Bolton, Villa, Wolves and West Brom have been touted.

Surely we are a much better prospect than all of the above?

A further possible positive consideration is, with new ambitious (all new owners say they are) owners it may persuade the likes of Rom and Stones to commit to another season if we fail to reach C.L this season.

So potentially we are getting bought, getting a new stadium, new players, being made regular challengers, then getting sold...

And this is a problem WHY?!

Yeh they could get some heavies to be quite persuasive with them, in a nice warning way !!

My issue is that most investment purchases of clubs (like this one we are discussing) do not end well whereas, rich benefactors who see the clubs as a show of wealth on the other hand seem to do very well.

I want an oil rich billionaire not some yank arfur daley.

The chances of getting an oil rich billionaire are virtually non-existent, given that precisely one such person has bought a club in this country, and did so 11 years ago.

People need to stop wishing for magical fairies to wave their magic wand.

I am talking about self-made "benefactor" types. The chairmen of Chelsea, City, PSG, Monaco types. There are reportedly a number of these within the USA India and far east looking to buy a club.

the only question from myself for example is who will it benefit more. If we benefit on the pitch then fantastic. if these guys do take us over i believe they will have us running brilliantly off the pitch, as the vlaue increase in San Diego alludes to. But a Mike Ashley Scenario where the money goes to the owner not the manager will have an adverse effect on the team, so for all the money in the world, we can't do anything if it's not at least partly on the pitch.

But either way, time will tell, it may be blind at the minute but i do have faith that at the very least these guys would have us running professionally and solidify the club in the financial climate, the exact opposite of what happened when the premier league was formed.

I agree with what you say but unless one steps forward we can't afford to stand still waiting another decade for them to turn up. I too hope some oligarch tries to buy us in the coming month but if not I would much rather take a chance with this consortium and hopefully push on with a stadium/investment in playing staff than with the current board.

Mate, I totally agree. I just have a bad feeling about this.

What we need this chap to do is buy us, build a stadium, keep the squad together and push on with a view to selling at a massive profit.

What we don't need is for this chap to sell our players and ponce the TV money for his own good.

I don't expect any of our 'big' players to leave in the summer, regardles of whether we're in Europe or not. All on good contracts, with years to go, and in an ever improving team? I don't know why Evertonians are always so paranoid about the possibility of players leaving.

As if Lukaku and Stones are going to want to stay when that Spanish biff leads us to 10th place. They can force a move.
