Laura, personally I wouldn't want a guy looking at buying a Championship because they cheap. That person will not be a game changer for Everton will they? ;)
I agree, I merely stated that out of the teams mentioned, we were the better prospect for potential new buyers. Obviously pricing would be relative but I still feel we would have more to offer.

People lambaste Kenwright for not looking for investment, while reports have constantly stated that he is only looking for the right party.

Investors then apparently come in and people start spouting that they are now cautious, concerned Kenwright may sell to the wrong party...

...as if he is some rogue businessman who'll sell to anyone jeopardising the future of the club. The whole situation makes me chuckle!

Yes we all want the perfect investor: some placid oligarch who'll invest heavily; new stadium; new players; very little risk and ultimate success.

The problem is that this scenario is unlikely if not impossible. If we want investment then there will be some inherent risk for the club.

There have been some success stories, yet equally there have been failings. If we want investment though that's the risk we'll have to take.

Hopefully those behind the scenes, including Kenwright and the board, will upkeep their promise of finding only the 'right' investment.

There haven't been flash sales in the past so hopefully there will not be now.

You seem to be ignoring the stories of Bills supposed decreasing health.

Time it would seem, is no longer on his side.

Yes we agree. My point being we are only "the better prospect for potential new buyers" for the "right" buyer that will be a game changer. Not the majority of potential buyers out there I am afraid.

Thing is, just as with Martinez or anybody or thing to do with the Club. We all have opinions but no actual say in the matter.

So we have 2x2 options.
It either will take place or it won't.
It will be good for us or it won't

Not quite mate. Any buyer would ideally want a minimum of 90% (this allows them to sweep up any dissenting shareholders). If that's not possible then the next threshold is 75%. If you have over 75% willing to sell to you, you can apply to the High Court to acquire the remaining shares.

No-one will buy just 68% because although you have a majority, most major corporate actions require 75% shareholder approval.

That is exactly as I understood the rules. If this does go through I can see the consortium will go for the lot, makes sense for them. Glazers own all of Man U, Mansoor all of City, FSG all of Liverpool. I think that is correct.

If it all goes wrong who is up for setting up FC Everton?

Sometimes we need to accept that people have good intentions, I try to be positive about the regime even though I know they have faults, sometimes things just aren't viable. I think were best saving the board discussion for another thread mate.
You've got nothing to back up your belief in Kenwrights good intentions but mention it anyway. When someone questions these good intentions it's a matter for another thread ? Sound.

It's cus we've got an American Keeper, well done Tim Howard, saved Everton yet again

That is right, crystal balls went out of fashion decades ago.

With all due respect, if 200m is too expensive for someone to buy a Premiership giant, then they are not the right one to take us forward. End of story for me.
Well yeah, but if they're looking at clubs like Wolves then they're probably not the sort of owners we want

My opinion is that this consortium are currently the best of whoever is interested in us, if the board either a) want to sell to the highest bidder or b) want to sell to "the right people" then for this consortium to have exclusivity on the deal I think must mean they have either offered more cash or look the more abled to take us forward.

I think it's important to note aswell that with the TV deal coming in being so big, unless we get a sugar daddy owner in realistically we won't have a big financial advantage over any other side in the league. We spent around £20 million net this summer which was more than a good few clubs who spent more but also sold 1/2 of their better players.
For me this takeover deal will only possibly benefit us in getting that new stadium sorted.

let's hope some crazed billionaire looking for a playtoy sees the news created by the media reports on this and makes them throw their hats into the ring, although I think the biggest worry for fans is the potential buyers see the accounts, want to renegotiate the price and it falls through with our board being inflexible

I think this is most peoples' fear isn't it? It may be a and not b.
