Since other news has broken since my initial comment on the subject I feel it appropriate to say I was told the news would break on January 9th (the day of the Dag & Redbridge game). Seems to me quite likely that - and the Echo confirms - there are more than one potential group interested and that my information is still valid.
Was your information regarding this consortium or another?

People lambaste Kenwright for not looking for investment, while reports have constantly stated that he is only looking for the right party.

Investors then apparently come in and people start spouting that they are now cautious, concerned Kenwright may sell to the wrong party...

...as if he is some rogue businessman who'll sell to anyone jeopardising the future of the club. The whole situation makes me chuckle!

Yes we all want the perfect investor: some placid oligarch who'll invest heavily; new stadium; new players; very little risk and ultimate success.

The problem is that this scenario is unlikely if not impossible. If we want investment then there will be some inherent risk for the club.

There have been some success stories, yet equally there have been failings. If we want investment though that's the risk we'll have to take.

Hopefully those behind the scenes, including Kenwright and the board, will upkeep their promise of finding only the 'right' investment.

There haven't been flash sales in the past so hopefully there will not be now.

Very well put mate.

The truth is often stranger than fiction. It's 100% legit, especially since Martinez got asked about it today at his presser, and the club haven't come out and dismissed it like they do with all other takeover stories. Neither have Moores or Noell too.

Sounds as though it's written in the stars if it's true, get us a nice new stadium at the very least. I'd imagine a few more quid to spend on players too.

We're due a bit of excitement, let's see it happen I say.

Any exclusivity sign by any party?
Is there a law that states exclusive rights once commencing due delligence ?

They may not have seen it as a possible outcome so there may not actually be any rules in place at this point. There should be of course, because some instances could be viewed as match-fixing. But as i read on here yesterday, a new rule was put in that owners couldn't move a club away like they did with MK Dons?

Wouldn't be covered by the fit and proper person test disqualifiers if he was buying less than 30% of the club but I reckon the FA would step in and make him choose between owning part of Everton or playing for Utd, and given the fact it would cost a small fortune to buy out his contract and not much less for us to buy him off them I feel pretty certain he'd have to go for the latter.

I can't help but think that the rumoured deterioration in kenwrights health and the possible sale of the club could be related?
He's always said that the club would be sold to somebody who gets football and gets Everton. It seems to me that this moores & noelle might get football but probably don't get Everton

Why do you think that though based on past history, what was it about the Kirkby scheme that convinces you of his good intentions ?

Sometimes we need to accept that people have good intentions, I try to be positive about the regime even though I know they have faults, sometimes things just aren't viable. I think were best saving the board discussion for another thread mate.

Saved mention of us to the last line...seems Leeds, Bolton, Villa, Wolves and West Brom have been touted.

Surely we are a much better prospect than all of the above?
We'll also be more expensive than all of them

We have never been more vulnerable to carpetbaggers. They could buy us for 200m in Jan, and the next day sell Stones and Lukaku for half that. And what could we do about it? Absolutely nothing.

Laura, personally I wouldn't want a guy looking at buying a Championship because they cheap. That person will not be a game changer for Everton will they? ;)

Let me get this straight. A bloke called John Moores and a bloke called Noell are looking to buy us around Christmas time. What part of that doesn't sound completely made up.

Mate I think you are spot on. When this whole thing surfaced I thought this has christmas kopite windup written all over it.

A bit like when you get a spam / scam email from a Nigerian king and you want to believe it, but deep down you know its not real..
