Mate, I totally agree. I just have a bad feeling about this.

What we need this chap to do is buy us, build a stadium, keep the squad together and push on with a view to selling at a massive profit.

What we don't need is for this chap to sell our players and ponce the TV money for his own good.

Agree completely mate and it's wise to be cautious when looking at potential buyers but until we find out more about them I think it's unwise to think they are gonna buy us the title likewise or financially rape us.

The big positive for me is that when they went after Swansea it was only the two yanks and they wanted a £30 million stake, now this time around its a consortium from both sides of the Atlantic offering £200 million, until we find out who's behind the scenes it's speculation but for me there is a good chance some moneymen/businessmen with acumen are involved.

Yep, this is the crux of it for me

Heard on TalkS**** this morning that a Jordanian billionaire is keen to buy a Premiership club. Not just buy into for profit but actually buy and invest - seemingly these guys do it for personal kudos rather than to make money. A case of 'my wanger is bigger than yours!'. Could be that the interest of the Yanks may now promote alternative interest from the Middle East? As alluded to previously by The Esk in an earlier post I can imagine this would, however, promote a bidding war which would only benefit the current board members who would be rubbing their hands at such a prospect.
The bigger the wanger the better.

I am talking about self-made "benefactor" types. The chairmen of Chelsea, City, PSG, Monaco types. There are reportedly a number of these within the USA India and far east looking to buy a club.
abu dhabi are behind city and Qatar is the finance behind psg,
the chairman are just a front for the respective emirs

Funny how the Kopites on RAWK are falsely pretending to be made up we are selling to hicks and Gillette mrkII, not realising Henry sells their best players year on year and is only in it for a profit same as they accuse this lot of being.

Rattled they are, the cherry on the cake would be some Russian/Asian playboy coming in last minute to buy us they would be in tears.

oh I do love our red friends from across the park, merry Christmas to them all

Think we all need to consider that this takeover could go well for the club, it could be average, or it could be poor
Could also not happen.
Either side may fail due diligence and after inspecting the accounts the potential buyers and sellers may not be able to agree on a price.
This is still at a relatively early stage although the intent appears to be there. ;)
Not to mention fit and proper person test. We don't know who the members of the consortium are yet.

The only self made guy there is the Monaco owner who has had serious % wiped off his companies share price over the past couple of years.
