Everton isn't just a football club. Due to the stadium its a property development investment opportunity.

We shall see.

We do need to know where the money is actually coming from if the Yanks do take over.

Respect that you debate the topic. A few others could learn from your example of staying on topic.
How exactly is Everton a property development investment opportunity?

No named sources. No names about 'the Chinese group'

Typical.

Any relationship to these?

Aston Villa Targeted by Wealthy Chinese Consortium With Takeover to be Completed After FA Cup Final
It is thought that the consortium are already well underway in their process of due diligence and are planning to have the deal formally completed in early June.

:dodgy:

The ones linked with Aston Villa (non-corroborated)
  • Wahaha
  • Wanda
  • Huawei
  • Alibaba

But there are no real names (here with Everton) and note no deal for either Villa or West Brom was forthcoming.

People also need to remember there is current financial turmoil in China.

I also need to add that in July 2015 the deal with West Brom collapsed

The Baggies have ended a period of exclusive negotiations with the bidder, reported to be a Chinese consortium.

"It is now clear to me that this potential purchaser is unable to fulfil the terms of that agreement at this time," said chairman Jeremy Peace.

^^^ there's your update. From earlier today.

There's absolutely no chance of NYC making the next sector: even if they upped their conversion rate by 27%+ (let's be honest, very unlikely) they would be nowhere near the 51% they need to make it a majority at the byline. Since the crash of 1952 there have only been three occasions where a group has managed to increase their suitability to this extent. Think about it, it's almost impossible when you're in a situation where a) you don't know where the next distribution is coming from, and b) you have no options available to secure it whenever it may or may not occur. It's totally fanciful to assume that anything is going to happen at this point.
