Everton isn't just a football club. Due to the stadium its a property development investment opportunity.

To be fair to you, here lies the nub of the problem for everyone who has considered Everton as an investment in recent years. Not only is there a football club in dire need of capital investment, but because of the lack of third party public and private support there's a property development company as well. Singularly that is the biggest issue.

However, to get back to your point about a NYSE listing - this issue makes the unlikely even more unlikely - it just won't happen. Moores and Noell achieved something in this space previously - perhaps they can do the same again, but it will only be done with private funding and debt - not through a quoted vehicle.

So how would you raise the capital to build Everton a stadium?
Bribe anyone and everyone necessary to get the next Commonwealth Games in Liverpool.

Seriously though, anyone who is interested in buying Everton Football Club is going to have a plan for a new stadium. That's the giant elephant in the room and there's no way anyone willing to take it over is depending on some external source of funding for the new stadium. If they are I weep for our future.

You wouldn't do it via the general public. Put it in a REIT, run it through Dublin or Lux, get institutional money.

I'm not the one doing it. The Yanks are.

Ok so they run a REIT.

What next?
