It comes down to this...

Do you as a fan trust the current owners to get it right when selling this club to a new owner who will be able to take this club to the next level?

My personal interpretation of the next level is:-

1. Winning Football Silverware within 2 seasons
2 Moving into a new stadium within 3 Years.
3. Injecting capital into the club to support the purchase of players to challenge the top 4 within 2 seasons.
4. Growing the brand on a global basis to support additional commercial revenue streams and increase the global fan base.

If we are selling to a new owner who cannot meet any of the above then IMHO I will hold onto my memories of the 80,s and it,s goodnight and good-luck.
Three years is a slightly unrealistic time frame mate. Would say five years.
Agreed though that we need to win stuff and improve our commercial side.

Just as a thought;

Will employees of Everton have been made aware of possible take over? I am talking about your salaried fixed cost employees, not casual stewards or weekend workers.

Legally, I imagine they don't need to be informed..but ethically..if the club was in discussions surrounding being taken over would they not need to be informed?

LCC have no money to help even if they wanted to, there having to shut libaries and such, the investor needs to pay the whole amount

No they wouldnt, like if u worked for asda and tescos wanted to take over then, they wouldnt inform you

The company i work for were sold a number of years ago. It wasn't widely reported in the region but all staff were informed as due diligence was taking place and as the sale was about to go through.

It would be leaked right away so no.

No, not officially they wouldn't, but whenever I've worked anywhere that due diligence was taking place, it was pretty obvious that it was under way. Anyone who works in finance, commercial or HR areas will be aware that stuff is going on

Yeah, accounting and HR would know if due diligence was underway, at least at some level of management.

Unless the information was already centralized and accessible by the ownership, which I doubt.

Plenty of land available round Chorley where you could build a new stadium. M61 and M6 links on our doorstep. Electrification of the rail line is going to happen fairly soon so good public transport links too. Personally I welcome our new American overlords tough bargaining position with the council.
I spent 10 miutes with my crayons(and tongue) out, and drew the plans for the new stadium at Southport, then you drop this bombshell - I am a broken man.

If we are taken over by Americans then I can see them trying to play tough with LCC.
They have no allegiance to the city and would happily relocate anywhere if a good enough offer was on the table.
The television money is the key driver of the takeover and upsetting a few supporters would not bother them either I expect.
Mate, it doesn't work like it does in the states. You can't just pack up and move, it wouldn't work. You would lose easily about 75% of the supporters who are responsible for a considerable portion of the club's revenue.

The story of Kenwright saying goodbye and thanking staff would be down to him leaving and the rumours are now picking up pace, however as we all know with everton rumours fly about, almost to give some fans hope even though we know its unlikely. Bad bad news if Kenwright's illness is as bad as made out however we need new owners and these guys look good. A lot of money to be fed into the club, just depends if it actually happens.

I don't even trust that outcome is on the current owners objectives. They will primarily be looking to maximise their share sale value. How the club and it's fans fare afterwards is of no concern to them other than in the minds of their minions posting on social media.

Time will tell but, sadly, I can't help with broadly agree with that. If a sale happens, and it ends up being a good thing for the club, then that'll be great, but I doubt it's the main driver for any sale.
