I'd temper expectations a bit. I'd love for them to redevelop goodison due to its importance to the clubs history (also selfishly I want to be able to visit the old lady and doubt I'll be able to make the trip for at least a few years). However we don't know the results or reports of these proposed surveyors, they could've just been placing a current value on the ground or indeed looking into possible renovations but they could find them not feasible/worthwhile. Truth is its all still full of unknowns but we can dream ;);)

They could have just been a couple of surveyors taking in a midweek football match after work for all we know.

Virginia is a nice state. Lived in Winchester for a brief time in the eighties. The old lady is grand and I hope I will visit in a couple of years myself seeing how things have changed. I hope not to much. I regular attended from 67 to 73 during the Harry Catterick & Billy Bingham years.

I used to live in Liverpool (well, Crosby) up until I took a job on a cruise ship in 1995. For the next 15 years I didn't really have a home, travelled the world by boat and got paid for it. I moved to the States when I met my wife in 2007.

The Old Lady is indeed grand. I was a season ticket holder from 1980-1994.

Too much in this now. I would be VERY surprised if the club is not sold within the next couple of months. The mouthwatering part - maybe, just maybe we get Goodison re-developed rather than a new location. I would LOVE that!

Rumour has it that there were Surveyors around Goodison recently.

could the 'Sold subject to contract' sign be going up soon.

just like your buying your new house, you 'shake on it', sign provisionally, subject to survey results...softly softly catchee monkey.

This may have been mentioned already, but I wouldn't expect this group to fork over a ton of cash for a new ground. They very idea cuts against what's become traditional American sports culture.

I don't know if it works this way in Europe, but in the US, the onus is essentially on the city to pay for new stadiums for their sports teams. Why? Because there's always going to be another city willing to build a new stadium to convince a franchise to relocate.

Moores did manage to get a new stadium built for the Padres, but it took almost a decade from the moment the idea germinated to project completion. Padres ownership only contributed one third of the project's $450 million cost, while miscellaneous bonds, taxes and other businesses and agencies picked up the rest of the tab.

Would such an arrangement be possible in Liverpool?

Could you imagine if the Franchise tag was labelled on English clubs, it must be so devastating to see your team moved because the owners like the look of another City. St Louis Rams have just moved back to LA for next season, I'd be all for it if we were guaranteed to stay and that Devils spawn club across the park moved to Guernsey.

Hard to get to Guernsey from Norway you know...North Pole?

Think everybodys getting a little ahead of themselves, surely a surveyor is normal when a business is bought, especially considering Goodison is part of the fixtures and fittings.

Its total unrealistic for Goodison to be revamped in my very humble view.
Why?

Look at the mess the current owners have got Everton in.
We are still in the Prmiership, with a squad of players that I think we may all agree is the most talented in twenty year. We have just been beaten in a cup semi final , largely by a dodgy decision. Our level of debt is very manageable.

When you say that we are in a mess , I am not really sure exactly what you mean by that.

If it needs explaining lad there is no point in trying.Playing wise things are rosy granted but the rest......Meh
