All speculation but was at the gym this morning and speaking to this Irish fella who has connections with horses etc said there is a Irish fella who owns stables / horses who is a big blue and is apart of the group of fellas trying to buy Everton.

Says that talks started last year but have been really vamped up recently with verbal agreements in place for it to happen

Obviously could be bs but if not it sort of makes sense.

Built, granted abar 15 years ago, for less than 200m.

...JP McManus. But I think he has something to do with United.

Also they're businessmen and good ones at that they will put money into Everton obviously they will want a return but to do that they'll know they have to spend to get back.

They will probably get rid of the likes of elstone and try to make Everton as profitable as possible I'm not as worried as a lot of people.

We will be much better off with them then with what we have.

Interesting. I think we all genuinely think we are not too far away from challenging for the top 4. Butland and yarmenlenko in jan would give the squad an immediate boost and improvement, but it's also very unlikely. Addressing the issues for us to progress would I think take up to 5 years. If they are serious about us becoming challenges, I'd expect to see big changes to the commercial operations. Expect pre-season tours to the states and possible much more favourable kit and sponsership deals with American companies such as under armour or warrior. Due to the work undertaken on the Walton site I could forsee if the finances were in place a timescale of starting the stadium in the spring of 2017.
These are two incredibly business savy guys, they're be all about assets and bringing money in. I'd expect to see the stadium at the top of their list. I would agree things like sponsorships, kit deals and any other form of commercial operations significantly change. The club would be run like a business. In a day where football is so much about the money the administrative and commercial side of football has never been more important. However we are the people's club and the fans and football must always come first. I seriously do worry where the football and fans stand on their priorities.

For anyone expecting them to invest into the squad or into the club I'm predicting you'll be left very disappointed. Admittedly I know nothing on the Parders or had heard of John Moores prior to this week but from my research it appears Moore invested all most none of his own money into the Parders, what would make us any different?

Who's to say the next owners won't just carry on running the business the same way? It's not exactly done the current owners any harm has it, looking at the prices being quoted for the sale in the media.

Surely their best way to make a fortune out of this club is buy it cheap, not invest any of your own money and sell it on.

To make a profit they have to make the club a valuable and desirable asset.
To my mind that means investment in a new stadium/redeveloped GP.
Investment in the playing staff.
Improved sponsorship and commercial revenues.
Tick those boxes and hopefully EVERYONE wins.

These guys don't have anywhere near the amount of money to do that though.

Well were quite self sufficient recruitment wise now that the tv money is rolling in and about to increase again. Of course it wouldn't take any significant investment to increase sponsorship or commercial income and then next big to deal is only around the corner after this new mega one kicks in.

The clubs finances are about to increase even if they come in and sit on their hands so the value of the clubs about to increase even if they don't make any big decisions or take on any risks. That's got to be the most sensible way to make a profit from us.

We don't know who else is part of the consortium, the very fact these 2 Americans have put together a consortium tells you they know what sort of money is required to push us on, otherwise they could have gone it alone like they did at Swansea, bought us then flogged our best players and recouped the money if all they were after was being in for a quick buck, which looks to be not the case.

The consortium sounds very interesting as it apparently has members on both sides of the Atlantic, and to give more meat on the bones to what one of the posters above said regarding an irish horse owner being involved, Noell owns a mansion in Ireland and both him and Moores own a horse stable.

People just need to stop worrying when we don't know the details, likewise shouldn't be happy to stick with the current failure of a board just because the potential new owner isn't as wealthy as Sheikh Mansour. We keep on with Kenwright we go backwards it's as simple as that. West ham and Palace are moving ahead likewise spurs and Liverpool are sorting their stadiums out. Time to twist and gamble.

How they fund it is the BIG question.
With out investing their own money or taking out more loans how would the club afford to build a stadium, clear the debts and purchase players??

Yes we're getting crazy TV money that's about to go up even more but every other club in the Prem is getting it too so that TV money gives us no advantage over other clubs in the Premier League.

Agreed but these guys aren`t stupid. A touch of speculate to accumulate would increase their margin appreciably.
It`s how they go about funding it is what concerns me.

How do you know that though mate? We've only heard of 2 business men of the whole consortium, until we know who every single one of them are, we won't know 'how much money' they have.
