That depends mate on what the new owners (assuming it happens) actually buy - they may buy just the Board's holdings and leave the other 32% or so in current hands, or they have agreement to acquire enough shares to force minority holders to sell. Until they publish their intentions there's no way of telling.

Generally speaking though mate, IF as seems likely a redeveloped ground or stadium build is on the agenda for them, then they would want to grab every share they can do - otherwise they are effectively spending to increase someone else's profit someday down the line, forcing minority shareholders to sell when your talking about very small amounts of shares on the other hand can cause a LOT more bad blood than it's worth for them - especially when your dealing with fans owning those shares

My slight concern is that most Americans interested in the sacred game are only interested in the potential profit.
This might easily go one of two ways, greatness or Villa. Either way, things will not stay the same.

Fingers crossed lads.
Anyone who buys the club will be more interested in profit than anything else. As an American I do have a massive fear that this goes the route of Lerner/Villa.
I love this club, and by far more than any American club of any sport and by far more than most things in my life. I feel home with this club. I want "Nothing but the Best" for Everton. Problem is regardless of the way this goes, it's going to take a few years to see whether the sale (if it goes through to the Americans) was for the better or worse. C'mon Everton just make it right, sake.

So you mean what we have seen the club being ran the way any business is in regards to a takeover/sale, Jesus mate - minority shareholders don't have a say and don't need to be privy to the details - thats the way it works, as for the fanbase - errrm yup and yeah ofc Asda would consult with the people buying groceries there should they be subject to a takeover.

Swansea City Supporters Trust owns a 20% share of the club btw, as such it is involved in things such as takeover talks etc.

As for Swansea - yeah they are a great example of what we should be aspiring towards mate and no club has ever walked away from a takeover and looked back to regret the decision ... oh wait a minute...

People need to get out of this entitled attitude they are taking, there is a lot of absolute bells amongst the fans, a lot of conspiracy theorists etc - lets consult all those too, even get Watched Toffee in for a meeting and get his opinion.

But by all means list what you are worried about so we can judge if you have valid concerns with any actual merit in them

If the club believe that they have found the preferred bidders why not publish there plans before they lock up the deal? If they have nothing to hide and have the best interest of the fans in hand then why do we have to wait till after the deal is done?

Trust, Transparency, Engagement with the fanbase - nothing on show here.

Two questions, did City or Chelsea do what you suggest, did their owners turn out bad for the club?

It's not like you're selling a shirt to your mate for a tenner and need to disclose any of it's imperfections with his lady.

As much as we love the club and the game, there is a business aspect to these things. If they were to disclose EVERYTHING there would be uproar and not because the deal is garb but because you can't make everyone happy.

For the sake of an argument let's say the deal has 100 line items to it. 92 of them could be solid and we all approve, but there would be a contingent who say the other 8 are crap and therefore deal should be off. Nature of the beast it is.

Everton takeover latest: John Jay Moores and Charles Noell flew into Liverpool for talks before FA Cup game
US investors had meetings in Liverpool during last weekend of January

Moores and Noell were spotted arriving at the Hilton hotel in Liverpool ONE
The American investors closing in on a takeover of Everton flew to Liverpool for secret talks with the Blues before the recent FA Cup win over Carlisle United.

The ECHO understands that John Jay Moores and Charles Noell were in the city on the weekend of January 30/31 to make progress with negotiations about their £200m bid.

Former San Diego Padres owner Moores and Baltimore-based Noell were chauffeured from Manchester airport to the Hilton hotel in Liverpool One on the Saturday.

They then held talks with Blues officials 24 hours before the FA Cup fourth round 3-0 win over Carlisle United at Brunton Park, which they did not attend.

It comes as the pair, also believed to have been shown around the club's Finch Farm training ground recently, were finishing their due diligence period on the Toffees accounts.

They are now at a stage where a deal in principle is close to being finalised to buy the majority shareholding in the club.

Everton have declined to comment.

It's not their place to publish any 'plans' that the prospective new owners may have for the club though.

The deal is around what they're going to pay for the equity, once that's concluded, then it's up to the new owners to make their plans clear to the fanbase.

Expecting the club to engage with the fanbase pre-sale is absolutely preposterous. Shall we go with these or what lads? Dear oh dear.
