Mid winter break in Qatar to meet new Middle Eastern owners? ( Yes I am wuming folks...)

Everton set for mid-winter break in Qatar after club's FA Cup tie against Bournemouth
  • Everton will take a four-day trip to Qatar after the FA Cup fifth round
  • The Merseyside derby scheduled for February 28 has been postponed
  • As a result, Everton's next league game is not until March 1
  • Everton will use the rare break for a warm-weather training camp

Everton will be the latest Premier League club to have a mid-winter break in the sun when they jet off to Qatar for a four-day trip after next weekend's FA Cup tie at Bournemouth.

Manager Roberto Martinez is taking advantage of a rare 10-day break in the fixture list to allow his players some warm-weather training and relaxation.

Everton's scheduled Premier League fixture with Liverpool on February 28 has been postponed because their Merseyside rivals are playing in the Capital One Cup final, leaving them without a game between February 20 and March 1.

A number of Premier League teams who are not still in the FA Cup will be heading south this week.

Sam Allardyce is taking his Sunderland players to Dubai while north-east neighbours Newcastle United will go to southern Spain where they face Norwegian club Lillestrom in a friendly. Stoke City will also head for Dubai under Mark Hughes having no FA Cup fixture to play next weekend.

Premier League leaders Leicester City are also planning a trip abroad with manager Claudio Ranieri joking that his team will be relaxing in the sunshine while Arsenal are involved in the FA Cup.

Liverpool have been prevented from following suit even though they are out of the FA Cup because they have two Europa League ties against Augsburg to play.

The idea of a mid-winter break has been debated in England for many years to follow the pattern of other north-European countries like Germany. But it seems even without a formal shut-down of fixtures, clubs are able to make their own arrangements to suit them.

I'd be more inclined to believe twitter quotes if

  1. They weren't from twitter and
  2. They spelt Jon right

What a complete nugget that billyliar9 bloke is

As if Jon Woods would just come out and say that to someone

Just so everyone is clear.....

The bloke that tweeted that is a balloon.

Doing the lad a massive disservice, he may have an agenda but the fact he is still connected at the club despite his very public stance should tell you a lot.

Is he really connected at the club though mate?
There isn't really a huge amount to suggest that

Are there qualifications?

There's nothing really to suggest anyone is to be fair, everything is conjecture, opinion and rumour washed down with guesswork.

Oh I know mate. You have to take everything with scepticism sadly, very little is facevalue now.
Just think it's silly for people to take someone on twitter seriously, particularly one who is just another man down the street.
At least the journos might actually have a source within the club, and are linked stuff from time to time.

And then there are agendas with journos, we went through all that with DK. It's all nonsense and clickbait...
