The Daily Fail are running an 'exclusive' today that Mourinho wants him at Madrid. Again no actual quotes but sentences starting with 'Sportsmail understands...' so it must be true.

The DF has a history of exclusives, so yeh, must be true. Still think Rodders & Fellaini won't be with us in 3 years time though, unless we get investment

I wondered whether anyone can actually point to anything in Rodwell's game that makes him a target for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Apart from being a potential talent in future years, I can't actually think of a stand-out facet of his game that would strengthen United or anyone else.

For me, he would be serving his best interests staying right where he is. He's not playing enough at Everton, these are his words. He's most certainly not going to be playing enough at United then.

He's still got a lot of development to go to be a sure starter.

He's at the best place to realise this potential, he's wanted at Everton and highly regarded. His time WILL come.

I wish some of these journalists would just ... off.

Because they're never interested in writing about us unless they're talking us down.

And as for some of these websites. They're rubbish. Know zero about Everton.

Just some fat lad writing something at home.

Same last summer. Arteta this Arteta that. etc.

HATE THE SNIDES.

Whoa there Blue Dawg

don't get bent out of shape on these hacks , the big Jazzman in the sky has this club in his hands and nothing can touch us , that's why he sent his only son (ME) to watch over things.........

we are like the holy grail , look bleak on the outside but only those in the know and involved and love the club can see the whole beauty my brother....

whatever the evil doers say or do to us we come out stronger , because?

we are Everton..................

to quote a Thin Lizzy song 'Don't believe a word'. They're made up stories to sell newspapers and to get people to websites; these journos are laughing their socks off at all of the gullible people who think that anything written/shown by the media is gospel - pah!!!

You're back I see Gary. (Mk 15)

Hows Nottingham today?

Sooner or later he is going to leave though, its inevitable. He's a good young player, and we can't offer him the sort of money or success other clubs can.

As i said in the other thread, until investment comes, we are and will remain, a selling club. Expect the same to happen to Coleman and any other good young player we produce.

I'm not totally convinced; If we can get our youngsters to all gel at the same time and have a decent run of results then there will be a case for staying and try to achieve great things with the best club in the premiership, maybe?

Because your looking at what he is now, and not what he could be. It's like Fellaini really, Moyes didn't pay 15 million for him because he was a 15 million player at the time, he wasn't, but he recognised what he could grow into. Football clubs buy potential all the time, and at worst, Rodwell will be a good Premier League player, capable of gracing many sides. If he develops properly and stays clear of injury, he could be one of the better players in his age group.

He has that rare mix of technical and physical attributes that only a handful of players have, and when they have it, they are usually very dominant players. Think Gerrard and Essien for examples. He's 6ft 2, still growing, a very good athlete, it's difficult to tell which is his favoured foot and that's not even mentioning his ability. He can pass, shoot, dribble and has excellent close control.

He showed against Chelsea and Blackpool what he could become, that's the potential your buying. I agree that it would be best for him to stay here and develop, but it's should be no surprise to anyone that he's highly rated.

He's a great prospect for a 19 year old. If he's going to be a top player in the league then he's going to do that as a midfielder that everything goes through (as TxB says, he's got the all-round game for that) but we have a couple of dominant players in that position as it is. Although his development is roughly on schedule, I also think he may not be getting quite enough game time because he's being placed in cotton wool as much as possible prior to a sale.
