His partnership with Toure is woeful when I've seen it. That game 3-3 games against Burnley and Bolton last season were hilarious for them two.

Toure's 1st choice. Then you've got Boetang and Kompany probably better suited to play with him. And Richards.

Lescott's probably 3rd or 4th choice centre half IMO.

Who told you that? Toure looked shaky with ANY defensive partner and therefore is never our first choice...if anyone is 3rd or4th...it's K.Toure.

do you rate Nedum Onuoha at all?

Naa...I was saying on Bluemoon before that several years back he was touted as the next Sol Campbell but for the last few seasons he has shown that he has a strong header and can tackle but if he tries anything other than hoofing it clear he looks clumsy as. Don't know if you remember but he scored a goal against Birmingham (i think) where he passed it to himself...his pass was wildly off target but he ran onto it because of his pace and put it in the back of the net.

Top lad and good pace and defensive ability but not a footballer by any means.

ah, so not a starter then

That's just the way I see it. Toure is a higher profile than Lescott also. So if it was anyone warming a bench...it certainly wont be Toure.

Sorry to burst your bubble toffees but as much as you want to believe it Lescott has not (and probably will not) failed at Man City. He has played well, has had a couple of injuries but is a first choice CB when he is fit. He is further up the pecking order than K.Toure and looks very solid in central defence with Kompany. Mancini has already shown this season that, when fit, Lescott and Kompany are the first choice pariring with K.Toure shifted either to RB or the subs bench.

With regard to the new signings...Boateng is a full back who will most likely replace Richards and Zabba at RB and Y.Toure was a solid defensive midfielder who played in a champions league winning Barca side...I can't see us bringing him in to replace Lescott at CB can you?

As much as you might like to believe his career has taken a nose-dive since leaving your club, it hasn't.

Are you trying to convince us or yourself mate. We know him a great deal better than you do and he's flopped massively so far, not saying he wont resurrect it but he's no 24m player is he?

I remember him looking totally boss against burnley early on last season. Cut to ribbons he was.

That said, I also appreciate when one comes on who isn't a windup merchant. Garry certainly doesn't seem like one so fairplay to him.

As for Lescott, all I remember was that picture of him in the private box watching Everton put the wood to City. Said it all really.

Thanks Bill. General consensus on here is that Lescott's career has nosedived since moving to City despite me saying otherwise...but what would I know?

He had a shitter last night if anyone's interested.

LESCOTT OUT!

he'll be even worse this season. trying to get back into the England set up in time for the world cup was his motivation last time. This time, he's getting 100 k a week even if he stays in bed, so why bother? Its not like you really are gonna win a trophy or anything. Your City, after all. He'll get buy on reserves of talent, but you certainly won't see the player that we had. He's gone.

I think I give the towel wearing manc tramps as much respect as I would get on a City Forum.

They have never won anything, NOTHING.

LESCOTT OUT!

not just on here, other forums and news websites seem to be of the same opinion.
So, he has gone from being an ever present at Goodison and an England reg. to being a bit part player at wastelands that didn't have a hope of going to the w.c. A player that you were willing to pay how much to secure the services of ? and how much would you get back if you offloaded him ?

so, in your opinion his career has advanced and you didn't pay over the odds for him by a vast amount just because you can.

I make no apology for saying this but if you come on here, and for a username pick a blert like cook then expect to get stick, is Mr. Cook really someone that you wish to be the figurehead and image of your club, or did you not just pick that to pish us all off ?
