10 Years ago it was 2003, Wayne Rooney had just broken though, we finished 17th, we do still have 2 players from that squad in the first team tho, Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert.

I still don't get it. If the comment it meant to mean something like "just imagine, for one minute, having this discussion during the Walter Smith years", it would still make no sense.

We've hardly been in the doldrums the last 10 years, have we? We've monopolised the best-of-the-rest positions, be that 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th place.

I think before the season started this poll would've revealed a slightly more pessimistic prediction...so all's good, i reckon.

I don't think Liverpool or Arsenal have that much more depth than us tbh.

Typical in seasons past when Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool (and before them Man City) were all substandard. Now Arsenal have Ozil, Liverpool have Suarez and Spurs have an excellent, rich squad. 5th to 7th is far harder to achieve this year than it has been for a long while.
