It depends on the trophy. I can't get excited about the League Cup. It'd be great on the day, but it would fade quickly and become a statistic.

Finishing 4th would mean a lot of good days over a long period and the prospect of more, so that's my pick.

Years ago I thought that I'd love to win the Charity Shield because we would've had to win the League or the FA Cup, when it was very big, to get there.

As much as it’s seen as the lowest cup to win, Everton have never won it. Definitely worth winning one just to have it on our CV.

I was listening to Arteta before the FA Cup final and he was saying winning the trophy is so important for a team because it is tangible success the players get that winning feeling, the adulation and all that goes with it and they want more, so it has to be a pot, we need to breed a winning mentality, finishing 4th is great but it's not silverware.

Voted 4th , tough one as along with rest of long suffering Evertonians I would love to see the Toffees lift a trophy ,
even better if along the way or in the final we beat the other lot !
, However believe Carlo will be focusing on qualification to the C/L as 1st priority

Spurs (I know, I know, two league titles) have quite ably demonstrated that you can have a very good team, finishing in the top 4 every year and continue to win absolutely nothing.

In the past I've argued for CL, but given how long it's now been, a trophy has to be number 1 priority.

In a normal season I'd say trophy all day long but with how football is at the moment without fans I couldn't think of anything worse than us getting to a cup final and either not being able to go or the stadium having to be 1/2-3/4 empty it'd put a real dampener on it and wouldn't be an enjoyable experience.

Then again we have absolutely zero chance of a top 4 finish next season so maybe just take a cup after all even if we make a few signings and with our manager it's going to take time and although we don't have much time I'd say we'd be lucky to scrape into the top 6. Pretty much every club expected to be up there is signing new players and making themselves stronger so even if we're trying to bridge the gap from last season teams like Chelsea are going to push on even further.

In conclusion I couldn't really give you an answer i'll sit on the fence. One thing that is certain next summer if we have another poor season like this one then Richarlison will be gone.

It's just not important to me and it's a major reason we have fixture congestion. It was only brought in 60 years ago for lower league clubs revenue and a rough chance to win a trophy.
We have European fixture congestion now and the League Cup should be scrapped or be confined to clubs below the Prem, imo.
It's a 3rd rate trophy and I actually take some satisfaction with us not having won it. I'd much rather win the Community Shield which isn't listed in club's
silverware haul, and that's a pity because we've won heaps of them.
