Don't like seeing James on the bench but I'm thinking he may have gotten too much of a beating last match and Don Carlo wants to protect him.

No other player stood up for him or got in the refs face on Saturday...no leaders on the pitch. Ancelotti shouldn't have to protect him

Very true. It’s not his fault he is only player we have that can be a match winner or do that but magic. Think people just get angry because without him we seem to be up against it.

not too fussed about that one though do think James would have killed them on the counter - though that would mean he'd have to not drop deep in midfield like he did second half v Leicester.

The issue is the rest of the team really... Seems very odd

There's a lot of games coming up mate. We know James has fitness issues. Playing United at the weekend and Spurs in the cup next Wednesday. City have a free midweek between the 13h and 20th too, so don't be shocked if our postponed game is rearranged for then, and it's the Anfield derby the week after.

If the manager choses today is the best game to rest him I have no beef with that.

I think it must be written into his contract that he has to start a certain amount of games. I just see no other reason for all these managers to keep playing him.

He shouldn't have to but if the players don't then it is up to the manager. It was unfortunate that nobody got pissed about him getting pounded over and over it, so much that he lost his cool and ended up getting that yellow card.

Have you seen the way siggy dictates games that’s why he plays every week. Gomes you mark him, Tom move over there, Richie come back, dcl jump higher, Pickford catch the ball. I love to watch him point all game and fix his hair such a masterclass. God I hate him.

Seen the team, midfield is ugh. Godfrey should be at LB and Digne in middle instead of Siggy with Keane in the back 4. We shall see.
