The fact that pre-season doesn't mean much outside a win or two and fitness ?
It's not the result I am bothered about. The only real opposition we have faced are Stoke and Arsenal ..... we failed to score in open play against Stoke and Arsenal played us off the park and ...... we looked like we were 3 weeks behind them in fitness.
It is one thing to be a touch concerned he's got a mild hamstring that might see him miss the first match but you said you don't expect to see him before the 3rd game of the season at the earliest. That would imply a grade 2 hamstring, usually a player shows a bit more distress when that happens rather than just touching the back of their leg.I know and I still don't believe him but we will see if he plays tomorrow. Hopefully I'm wrong.
That whole idea is lost of some people.
Like I said above when Steve Tashjian was our fitness coach/sports scientist............ Fitness levels were 100% better.Injurys last season compared to the season before were a mile apart. When he was here we finished 5th....... we let him go and we don't even break in to the top 10.That was the problem last pre season, fitness was terrible when the season kicked off, nothing changed then and tbh can't see the results changing either.
City have conceded 4 against Stuttgart....
No Leeds United, but then again we aren't Man City.
So what does it tell you?
You can't always get what you want but sometimes you get what you need.I want to hear about your fantasies even less than I want to hear about your many and varying football opinions. And thats really saying something.
you can tell all that from a U21's match against the Leeds first team?tbh ...... that im not interested in man city. i couldnt give a crap about any other teams results or signings.
but i can point out what i see with my own eyes about where we lack and where we could and should strengthen.
Fair enough. But I think we all know we are desperately average with a limited squad. Also is only a training exercise. I have very low expectations for the coming season. I have learnt to enjoy other things these daysNot the result but the performance and the lack of good back up in the squad
A minor pull is 1-3 weeks. Would you really want him rushed back?It is one thing to be a touch concerned he's got a mild hamstring that might see him miss the first match but you said you don't expect to see him before the 3rd game of the season at the earliest. That would imply a grade 2 hamstring, usually a player shows a bit more distress when that happens rather than just touching the back of their leg.
Given our luck with injuries you can't rule anything out unfortunately but how about we just wait 24 hours and see if he plays before jumping to conclusions?
kids did ok, cleverly was fine when he came on, no attacking threat from us, half arsed efforts from the first team lot , kone , naismith , barkley. and robles pretty boring to be honest run out for those lot chance for the kids to put the shirt on, nothing learned/lost from it really.Anyone stand out? Take it Barkley didn't run the show?
