But surely it is far more likely he was just homesick - he went back to the club that he left us for and from what I can tell is doing much the same job so money/promition doesn't really seem to be the main driving factor.
I know what you mean mate........ but we have managed to keep Howard here since 2007 and he I would think had more reason than most to be homesick after his separation. Just my own thoughts....... money talks. You may well be right...... I just think that we were a better team/squad mentally and physically when he was here. The league positions and injury list proves that to me.

It is code for "Rom hasnt been able to join in our corner practice. We had half an hour the other day. Was a phenomenal and special occasion"

lol That makes no sense at all, irrc Roms started several of the games and played the full 90 a couple of times!

Oh well, at least he seems to think he'll be OK for Watford whoch is the main thing.

Probably means since he came off in the last game. It's easy to spot flaws in spoken statements when they have been written down. We're all guilty of sometimes not being 100% clear in our meaning.

Agree, Distin and Pienaar in particular seemd really close to him, and think it a very valid question to ask why we don't appear to have found a good replacement for him.

Just don't think there is much point in blaming Everton for not keeping him specifically as that could be down to entirely personal reasons.

Another awful pre-season. Squad isn't up to scratch. Conceding, not scoring enough. A tough run of fixtures in the league to come. No sign of improving the team with new players.

Anyone who thinks there won't be a repeat of last season needs their heads checked.

Yeah you could be right................ I think we all get a bit twitchy this time of year.Let's see how we all are this time next week lol

He did just move home because he missed America. My wife went to the same hairdressers as his wife lol Mrs Robertor can be the new GOT ITK ;)

Hand on heart, do you think he'll play tomorrow?
No, but think he'll start at Watford. Think Deulofeu, who definitely did pick up a mild hamstring injury, won't though as due his lack of games he'll be further behind in overall match fitness.

But it is all speculation and we'll find out in time, just don't see much point in borrowing trouble - knowing Everton there will be plenty to worry over served up right on a plate so no need to actively seek it out ;)

Fair enough. But I think we all know we are desperately average with a limited squad. Also is only a training exercise. I have very low expectations for the coming season. I have learnt to enjoy other things these days
Thats a shame.
I love my club and nothing will replace that for me but i am concerned by how we play its boring and non productive.
I have high expectations for the coming season and thats probably my problem apart from last season we have been average top 6 for quite a few years.
The squad should have been culled this summer we have too many players on high wages who won't be able to give what they have in the past.
