Sounds like Martinez was really judging the youngsters today. He didn't have much to say Re: Senior players in his comments other than Oviedo getting a full 90 in and some criticism that we should have taken our chances better. Also stressed that the game tomorrow is important to measure the readiness of the first team. Not going to fume much today or event tomorrow if things go poorly - But clearly still need a Defender, Playmaker and really need a BU Striker to Push Rom.

I don't think Deulofeu will be risked because he hasn't played a proper game of football since February and even then it was in a different league which is played at a different tempo. Fwiw think he'll be a sub.

Lukaku however has and already had many more minutes of preseason work behind him plus martinez has twice said he is fit enough to start the season and it isn't a hamstring.

Ffs Ad, obsessing over the players legs is my shtick on here, stop muscling in on it!
Well then I will just have to bow to your superior judgment on their legs after your many years of meticulous research.

Those who are concerned are concerned for a reason. Those that think ....it's only a friendly...... are the glass half full type. From what I have seen so far........... next SAT............we will all be drinking from the same glass and it won't be half full.

@Adversus turn that frown upside do and go and do some internet research for the transfer thread..

Or call the Samaritans ffs.
I've got the Samaritans listed as one of my friends and family in preparation for the first 10 games of the season.

As for transfers. I think we'll sign VVD after Celtic's next CL game and Lennon on deadline day assuming no one else gets injured.

It's not the transfer window. It's everything. Stadium, transfers, injuries, no chances, boring football and all when the teams around us seem to be strengthening and moving forward on and off the pitch.

I'm not fuming, just a bit depressed.

At least we do look fit this year

Keep focusing on the positives mate ;)

Except they all weren't on the pitch together. Kone won't start, Rom is fine for Watford by all accounts. Barkley Cleverly and Mccarthy will be the starts out of that lot. I'm not kidding myself, I just prefer not to lose my mind over a preseason friendly with a mostly u21 team playing when we have another game tomorrow, too each their own
Don't think Barkley will start against Watford, think it will be Osman.

No, it'll be full of luke warm Chang. Can't wait.

I'll devastated if we don't bring in a sexy new playmaker.

Have some people forgot what "Supporting a team" actually means.. That word "support". Jesus Christ it was a pre season game which involved us basically playing a B side.. Some of you need to go back to bed.. If next week we're utter rubbish then fine moan but not after todays result

Give them a call mate before it goes to far.

Or maybe a quick game of FM will cheer you up?
