Why does anybody raising concerns about our pre- season become a moaning bell to others, for me it!s been a quite poor pre- season again with both additions to the squad as well as performances on the pitch being poor overall. If I had to guess I'd say we're gonna be in pretty much the same shape we were in last season, not much looks to have changed. Still have that flat vibe about us was hoping we'd be fired up a bit by now and showing some decent periods in games at least.
mainly because it's absolutely pointless moaning on about training games as is the sky is falling and it means certain relegation.

In what way has it been a poor pre season? plenty of games, everyone (more kids than usual) have had good run outs, reasonable level of opposition

I've never been to an away preseason before yesterday. Are our travelling fans always that quiet in friendlies?

I was sat with the Leeds fans in the East Stand, and I heard one rendition of "Everton, Everton..." - and pretty much nothing else.

There's no criticism from me there, either. I wasn't even in the right stand to contribute. It just surprised me.
you should have been in the concourse at half time,it was crazy
then everyone went back to their seats for the 2nd half in silence.

I know it's not the end of the world as it is only pre season after all but I get the feeling we could be performing much better as a team and individually on the pitch and also a lack of transfer activity is something I feel we should have done more, so for me it's pretty underwhelming. I'm not saying the sky is falling in and certain relegation but the fact is I'm not too optimistic for our chances of a top 6 finish which I'd class as a successful season.

Can we please abbreviate this to "RS"?

I agree we'll be lucky to get top half at present.

we were told at the beginning of the window, that Bobby would be bring in a couple early on and a couple towards the end of the window. He's specifically said he's after a CD and No 10 (the two towards the end of the window no doubt) and has recently been making rumblings about a striker as well (no doubt our big loan for this season.

Signing them now wouldn't stop the moaning either, the usual suspects would just moan about who he brought in the regardless of who they were. Thats Everton mate.

done mate sorry
No worries.

I'm not basing my pessimism for the season on yesterday's Leeds friendly btw, I just meant the squad in general. Cleverley has looked good so far, however we need CB cover and another CF at the very least.

We will get top half easy. Last year was a one off.
Teams spend money on tosh every year but get nowere.
Swansea will do well again as they havent gone ott and so will saints as they did last year. Newcastle should do better and it will be interesting to see villa
For me i think palace, stoke and west hame may struggle a little as they have soent abit and expectations will raise without adding any really proven quality bar cabaye

Exactly, 6th would feel like a successful season this time instead of the usual slight disappointment of missing out on champions league place.

Browning, pennington and galloway have all looked comfortible against good oposition in pre season but i agree we need someone a little older (which we will get and as stones n jags are our first choice we dont need to run out and get).
Cleverley has looked good as has barkley (runs and hides), lukaku looked sharp plus other players have looked 10 times fitter then last year. Throw in a couple of kids performances and im happy.
Still need a no.10, centre back and back up forward.
But with a squad with naismith, kone, mcgeady, oviedo in our squad i think we need to maybe lose a few to keep the wage bill down

Galloway has looked ace, I agree, but until he's a bit more experienced, I'd bring in one more CB.
