We are looking 100% better than last season's shi.show. We had no idea away (and only a modicum of one at home). We at least look like we know what we're doing (Patterson, defence, Alex, Gordon)
Gordon will help keep us out of the drop zone and, with an improved side, we ought to be able to rebuild carefully if he goes (next summer). Without him we're limited in terms of skill. Need DCL fit up front to add a few goals .. but, few points though we have, I am much happier than I was from October-May last season.
But as for Maupay:
Friday lunchtime is deadline for signings eligible for Saturday but Saturday is not the deadline for signings eligible for Monday (or even Tuesday if a Bank Holiday falls on a Monday). COMPLETE NONSENSE.
Granted the Monday should fall part of a fixture weekend (Monday Night Football) as the timing of the game is down to Television scheduling. But this is pure nonsense in the same way that DG's arm is offside even when his arm is not permitted to play a football under the Laws of the Game - except, like the Closed FA Headquarters.. when it does apply
And, Everton That.. no one was surprised when the flag went up, when NP missed a golden chance.. it's what we do.
Positives: Patterson, Defence, Onana, Gray lasting the full 90, Gordon (if he's still a Blue in 48 hours time..)
